Social Work Intervention Research On Community Building In Resettlement Community

With the development of the integration of urban and rural areas,resettlement community appear in the public as a product of a unique era background.A large number of citizens have changed from villager status to resident status due to demolition policy.At the same time,they have left the village where they live for many years and started the life of urban communities.On the surface,they just moved,however,there are actually a lot of challenges in their life,such as the change of babits,household registration,grass-roots management system,et cetera.In order to build a more harmonious community and promote the development of urbanization,the government continuously encourages social organizations to participate in the construction of the community,and exerts social organizations',social workers',communities' strength to carry out community building,and intervene in community-related issues by integrating community resources.Recently,community building is in full swing everywhere.This paper is the exploring study of community building in resettlement community.Main purpose is discussing how does the social work availably get involved in the resettlement community building by the community building project of resettlement community B in Chengdu.Under the guidance of empowerment perspective theory and community social work practice methods,through participatory observation and interviews to collect information,analyzing B resettlement community building current situation,identifying community building's theme: volunteer construction,environment beautification,home culture building.Preliminary goal is to increase the number of residents groups participation,latter goal is to launch residents involved in planning the building activities.By intervention in preparation period,mobilization period,building period and consolidation period,developing residents' community participation consciousness step by step.Finally,refleting on the practical process of social work involvement in resettlement communities' community building and analysing the key and difficult points of community building in resettlement community.It is found that: social workers can break the barriers between residents and social workers to establish the sense of trust each other through the way of mobilizing residents to participate community's public affairs which they care about.Community's self-organization can not only promote the goals of community building to be achieved,but also mobilize residents to participate in community building.Cultivating a team of volunteers can facilitate the establishment of new geographical connections after the residents of the resettlement community entering the new environment.
