With the coming of China's aging society and the rising cancer rate,the public's demand for hospice care is becoming stronger.Many dying elders and patients with urgently need hospice care services.As an important part of the hospice care team,volunteers play a vital role in the development of hospice care.Relevant research shows that both volunteers and voluntary organizations need to ensure the effectiveness of volunteering through initial training and continuing education.China is still in the early stage of the development of hospice care,and it has great demand for volunteers.However,the relevant professional volunteers' reserves are far from meeting the needs of the current stage.It is undoubtedly an important topic to cultivate and enhance the comprehensive service capabilities at volunteers.Based on the hospice care volunteer service team of S organization,the author refines the competence dimensions and elements of hospice care volunteers through literature research and previous interviews with key behavioral events.On the basis of demand research,it is found that S-institutional hospice care volunteers generally have a low level of service ability,and there is a need for life meaning and volunteer service exploration,communication skills improvement,and experience-based information acquisition.Based on this,the author wants to carry out group activities to improve volunteer service ability.At the same time,guided by social learning theory,the author intervenes in three aspects :cognition and motivation,skills and knowledge.In the first stage,the similarity of the problem makes the volunteers gradually look at themselves objectively and accept the group.This stage is the process of their transformation from "self-denial" to "self-affirmation".In the second stage,the author wants to help volunteers improve their personal service ability in the process of observing and learning.The author intervenes from three dimensions of volunteers' abilities: cognition and motivation,communication skills and empirical knowledge.This stage is the process of group members' transformation from "self-affirmation" to "Multidimensional development".In the third stage,the volunteers grow up and the group becomes mature,which can realize self-management of the team and gradually transform from "personal growth" to "group growth".Through the evaluation of the effectiveness of the hospice volunteer service capacity improvement team,the effectiveness of the team's work in this issue was proved.In addition,the author deeply analyzes the changes brought by the intervention of the groupwork to the volunteer service ability.Finally,through the reflection on group work and hospice care,the author summarizes some experience in carrying out group activities of similar groups,including effectiveness and sustainability of group activities,the mode of combining group work with community work,and the advocacy of relevant social policies.The author hopes that this research will complement the practical experience of the group work methods.
