Nowadays,China's economy shows a downward trend of development. As one of the three carriages to promote economic growth, consumption has become the most powerful one to drive China's economy.Expanding domestic demand and stimulating consumption can effectively promote the sustainable and healthy development of China's economy.Cultural consumption is an important aspect of the transformation of the consumption structure of Chinese residents, but the overall scale of cultural consumption of Chinese residents is small and the power of cultural consumption is insufficient. Therefore,to improve the level of cultural consumption has a greater role in promoting China's economic transformation and development. At the same time,China's aging process is deepening, and the number of the elderly population is accelerating. In view of this, under such a dual background, this paper discusses the impact of the aging structure on the level of cultural consumption of residents, and puts forward the policy of cultural consumption promotion based on the empirical analysis results for reference. This paper uses China's household tracking survey data(CFPS)to construct micro panel data by using its three-year samples in 2012,2014 and 2016,and makes an empirical analysis of the structure of family aging on the level of cultural consumption of residents,so as to answer the three basic questions of this study: 1.Whether and to what extent does the aging structure of the family influence the cultural consumption level of the residents.2.Compare the differences between urban and rural areas as well as between regions.3.Furthermore,this paper discusses whether and to what extent the structure of family aging affects the cultural consumption excluding the expenditure of education and training.Based on the literature reading and the research on the micro survey data of CFPS,this paper establishes the proportion of the elderly and the children in the family as the core explanatory variables, and uses the panel data model of fixed effect for empirical analysis. The empirical results show that the proportion of middle-aged and old people in the family has a negative impact on the level of family cultural consumption, while the proportion of children in the family has a positive impact on the level of family cultural consumption; In the empirical results of urban and rural areas and regions, the proportion of the elderly population in rural areas is more inhibited than that of the family cultural consumption, while the proportion of the children population in rural areas is more positive than that in urban areas; The inhibitive effect of the proportion of the elderly population is as follows: the East, the West and the middle, the promoting effect of the proportion of the young population to the family cultural consumption is as follows: the west, the middle and the East;In the empirical analysis of cultural consumption excluding education and training expenditure, the proportion of middle-aged and elderly families promotes the growth of family cultural consumption, while the proportion of children has a negative effect. The innovation of this paper mainly focuses on: first, the research angle is novel.Under the background of the deepening of aging and the upgrading of consumption structure in China, this paper analyzes the age structure of the population in the family and cultural consumption together, and makes more in-depth and specific discussion and research by using large sample micro data.Second, the starting point of theoretical analysis is unique. This paper analyzes the theoretical transmission mechanism of age structure to cultural consumption from the perspective of different age groups' demand for cultural consumption function, including rational addiction, human capital theory and conspicuous theory.Third, this paper compares the differences between urban and rural, regional aging structure and cultural consumption in detail.Last, the study of refining the content of cultural consumption. On the basis of discussing the influence of age structure on cultural consumption in families, this paper further studies the influence on cultural consumption excluding education and training expenditure.
