| People of a country usually develop and live in its territory stretching thousands of miles.China is a unified multi-ethnic country,in which the people of all ethnic groups work together to overcome many difficulties and jointly develop the beautiful motherland.National unity is not only the foundation for China to maintain national solidarity,strengthen national cohesion and ensure the steady development of society,but the lifeline of the people of all nationalities.According to the report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,it is very necessary to deepen the education of national unity and progress,strengthen the community sense of the Chinese nation and the exchanges and integration of the various nationalities,as well as promote the nationalities to hold together like pomegranate seeds,and work together for common prosperity and development.Yunnan Province,located on the border,is not only an important gateway to Southeast Asia and South Asia,but the province with the most ethnic types,ethnic autonomous areas and unique ethnic groups in China.Located in the central and western part of Yunnan Province,Dali is the only Bai Autonomous Prefecture in the country with 13 ethnic groups and 47 ethnic components,which is the epitome of the multi-ethnic country and the model of "integrated pluralism" ethnic relations.In September 2016,Dali Prefecture was named as “the demonstration for national unity and progressive creation activity”by the National Ethnic Affairs Commission.And by December2019,the demonstration schools in Dali Prefecture have accounted for 146 in more than 1,300 demonstration schools for ethnic unity and progress education in the province.What’s more,the education of ethnic unity and progress in those schools of Dali has been carried out for a long time and within a wider range,and also achieved good results,especially its experience and practices have been praised and promoted by the Ministry of Education and the the National Ethnic Affairs Commission for many times,which have the typical and representative characteristics.However,there are still many issues that can not be ignored.Based on consulting a large number of literature,and through investigating 16 junior high schools in Dali City and three minority autonomous counties under the prefecture(Yangbi Bi Autonomous County,Weishan Yizu Huizu Autonomous County and Nanjian Yizu Autonomous County),this paper conducts a comprehensive understanding of the current national unity and progressive education in juniorhigh schools,timely summarizes valuable experience to find its shortcomings,and further propose the corresponding optimization countermeasures.This paper can be divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction,and mainly introduces the research background,research significance,the current status of domestic and foreign research,the definition of core concepts,as well as the research theoretical basis,ideas and methods.The second part explores the connotation of ethnic unity and progressive education,as well as its great significance in junior high schools in ethnic autonomous areas.The third part mainly conducts the survey and further discusses the current national unity and progressive education in Dali junior high schools from three aspects of school leaders and teachers’ understanding of national unity and progressive education,national unity and progressive knowledge and awareness of junior high school students,as well as the specific education practices in local junior high school schools.The fourth part analyzes the achievements,main problems and reasons of the current national unity and progressive education in junior high schools of Dali Prefecture.Based on the related survey,it can be found that the development of ethnic unity and progressive education in junior high schools in Dali Prefecture can rely on the examples,carriers,establishment of characteristics and even the minority classes to fully promote the education reform and extensive implementation of related activities.However,there are still many problems in the specific practices,mainly including the understanding of the education of national unity and progress,the incomplete working mechanism,the lack of effective guidance for students’ sense of national solidarity,the single implementation methods and contents of national unity and progress education,and even the ineffective implementation of relevant state policies.Therefore,the paper also specially makes the targeted analysis according to the above problems.The fifth part analyzes the strategies for optimizing the education of ethnic unity and progress in Dali junior high schools,mainly including guiding students to establish the national pluralism outlook,increasing the investment in the national unity and progressive education,and strengthening the related teachers resources.At the same time,it is also very necessary to increase resource development and integration,and enrich the content and practice forms of national unity and progressive education,strengthen the organizational supervision and policy guidance for the education of national unity and progress,build a collaborative education mechanism inside andoutside the school,as well as focus on the organic combination between school education,family education and social education. |
