A Group Work Study Of The Help-Education Service For Delinquent Minors From The Perspective Of Self-identity

The situation of minor crime is very serious at present.And the means of minor crime is becoming more and more adult,the circumstances are becoming worse.Because of its particularity,the judicial system pays more attention to the education of minors,and the criminal law is more of an auxiliary function.In China,More and more minors are receiving social minor help-education.According to the characteristics of juveniles’ puberty,this paper pays attention to the problem of their personality development,and uses the professional method of social work to carry out group work service to promote the development of self-identity of juveniles involved in crime.This group work service si beneficial to promote the development of the minors to realize self,to help them through education period,find direction in life,which has important significance to prevent juvenile crime again.Based on the theoretical and practical experience of the development of minors’ self-identity and the study of minors’ criminal behavior at home and abroad.this paper Carry out practical research on the service objects from September to December in F city.The delinquent minors were part of the Spring Seedling project,This project is for the juvenile involved in the crime to carry out observation and education services.Collecting data through questionnaire survey and interview.According to the data analysis of preliminary measurement,We find that the service objects have problems such as insufficient development of self-identity,low self-identity,confusion about self-development,poor family communication and tension between parents and children.Based on the problems and dilemmas facing the service object,The service objects have the needs of clarifying the rights and responsibilities of the period of the social minor help-education,successfully passing the period of the social minor help-education,recognizing their own roles,establishing correct self-values,easing inner fears,getting rid of confused emotions,establishing goals and easing parent-child relationship.Guided by such needs,We have developed a group work service plan for our clientsfrom September to December.we provide Six times of services,mainly group work services and supplemented by case services,were conducted to help the service objects to conduct self-exploration in activities,so as to help them gradually clarify their own values,understand their own abilities,set up reasonable goals,and finally successfully overcome the crisis of self-identity and realize personal growth and development.Finally,help them go through the period of the social minor help-education smoothly and return to the society better.The 6 group activities were carried out smoothly as planned,and the group goals were basically achieved.The service objects have explored their roles,responsibilities,values and advantages,and their self-identity has been improved,and they have a clear goal for the future development,which also promotes the good development of the parent-child relationship of the service objects.Finally,all the service objects have successfully passed the social minor help-education period,obtained the opportunity not to be prosecuted by the prosecutor’s office.Through this group work service study,we found that the development crisis of self-identity of minors is related to their criminal behavior to some extent.In addition,peer group relationship and parent-child relationship have certain influence on the development of self-identity of minors.To prevent the minor from committing a crime again,we should pay attention to its personality development characteristics.It is of great significance to carry out relevant services to promote the development of minors’ self-identity to improve the effect of he social minor help and education services and promote minors’ personal development.At the same time,this paper also summarizes some practical experience in using the group work method to carry out the social minor help-education service for juvenile involved in crime.It mainly includes grasping the appropriate opportunities for adults to promote the establishment of specialties with the juvenile,making comprehensive use of professional methods such as casework and group work,giving full play to the power of respect,giving play to the role of warm support and drawing on the experience of community correction,and using individualeducation method at the right time.Finally,this paper further combining with service experience of Non-profit organization Y,summed up the view of social work service intervention to protect the lack of the social minor help-education services.Then,in view of the shortcomings,the author provides its own Suggestions for promoting social work to play a better role in the field of the social minor help-education service.
