With the economic growing,China is facing a new era of various topics:first of all,new urbanization along with the industrial structure upgrading is the main topic.Secondly,to absorb the merging employment and to promote economic growths are also important. How to plan a reasonable and effective way of urbanization which can absorb new jobs, and promote the upgrading of industrial structure at the same time,is one of the most critical issues for the moment. To examine the path of urbanization, more crucial point is to understand the size of cities and its influence on structure and employment.Different-sized cities are exhibited quite different characterizations in the industrial structure and employment absorption, etc.Producer services are the dominant direction of industrial upgrading. This paper examines the impact of different size cities on labor employment in producer services,in order to explore the relationship between city size and producer services employment, and to choose the path of urbanization by offering reference. This article is using Probit econometric models based on CHIP database, which establish control of the individual characteristics and features of the city and aim at analyzing the different impact the different urban scale on individual's probability of employment in producer services. Conclusions are as follows:First, the city scale will significantly promote individual employment probability in producer services. In control of the city-level features, such as FDI which was actually used that year, traffic conditions, location(center or not);and control of the individual-level characteristics, such as years of education, age, health status, whether immigration, whether it be the population size or capital size as a proxy for the size of the city, city size were significantly enhanced the probability of employment for an individual in the production of the service sector. Thus we come to a conclusion that the larger the city size the more jobs in producer services. Moreover, taking into account the labor force is not homogeneous, this paper expands the econometric model to analyze the characteristics of different groups of urban-scale employment in producer services in the impact of heterogeneity. The first part is the number of years of education for different groups, urban scale will significantly promote the 0-12 years in the educational level of employment in producer services groups in probability and impact on the population level is greater than 12 years of education are not significant. The second is the probability of employment for different income groups;city size was significantly increasing lower income groups in the production of the service sector, while the impact on high-income groups was not significant. As a summary, city size will significantly promote individuals in the producer services employment probability, and the impacts on different groups are heterogeneous. The conclusions suggest that we must treat urban scale expanding complying with the nature pattern and trend in which it can generate more employment in producer services. At the same time, low levels of education and low-income groups can gain more form city scale expansion, which can reducing the gap and promote social equity.
