An Investigation And Study Of Current Status Of Relationship Between Master Postgraduates And Advisors

Postgraduates education,which is an important source of high qualified human resources for our country's economical and social development,has received wide attention.The core of our country's current postgraduates education is the advisor-responsibility system.Postgraduates and advisors are two main components that take parts in postgraduates'educational process,their communications exist throughout the whole period,and'relationship of postgraduates and advisors(ROPA)deeply influences quality of graduated masters.In order to raise quality of graduated masters,ameliorate ROPA,and improve administration of postgraduates education,it is of great significance to study current status of ROPA,find out main problems,and analyze factors influencing ROPA and possible means to address it.Via statistical analysis and coding-classification,the present thesis takes ROPA as the research target.It is found out that there are four main factors influencing it,i.e.lack of available mutual communications,poor guidance from advisors,imbalance of mutual social and economical positions,and defects of postgraduates administration system.Factors influencing ROPA are analyzed from four aspects including basic status of postgraduates and advisors.The first one is basic status of postgraduates and advisors.Analysis gives that comparing with student's gender,marriage condition,job experience and student degree,satisfaction level of ROPA is more concerned with advisors' professional ranks and administrative levels.The second one is the academic communication.It is found that routine meeting and face-to-face talks.Help improve ROPA;More concern mentor gives on master's thesis,more satisfactory ROPA is.The third one is daily communication.Care and positive attitude of advisors on postgraduates' group activities Help improve ROPA.For postgraduates,perfect advisors are both broadly learned and professional.The last one is postgraduates' study attitudes.The ones that feel interested in their majors tend to get along well with their advisors.More time postgraduates pay on study-related issues,more satisfied they feel on ROPA.In order to solve problems in ROPA,proposals for postgraduates,advisors and administration are given.1)For postgraduates:Try to understand advisors;Show initiatives to talk with advisors,learn to properly express ideas;Be self-motivated,be less utilitarian,and be responsible.2)For advisors:Improve academic and guidance skill,try to communicate equally with postgraduates,and try best to guide distinct postgraduates distinctly.3)For administration:Ameliorate administrative specifications of advisors;Establish communication platforms between advisors and postgraduates,organize more out-of-class activities;Make talks between advisors and postgraduates continuously,make advisors' guidance routinely;Innovate sponsorship system.
