Since the postgraduate enrollment has been resumed,the number of postgraduate students in ordinary universities keeps growing,and the growth rate significantly larger than the number of teachers.The continuous growth of the student-teacher ratio means that the number of postgraduates under the guidance of teachers increases year by year.The increase of the number of the postgraduates will cause teachers not having enough time and energy to guide each student,thus affecting the quality of postgraduates.The cultivation of postgraduates is inseparable from the guidance of the advisor.The relationship between postgraduates and advisors,the academic level of the advisor,and the efforts of the postgraduate themselves are key factors of the quality of postgraduates.This paper combines the research methods of quantitative research and qualitative research.It take the 2015,2016 and 2017 postgraduates and postgraduate advisors of 11 universities in H province(including "985"colleges,"211"colleges and normal universities)as the research object.This paper explores the relationship between advisors and postgraduates,and the growth of postgraduates from four aspects:"student personal information","the purpose of being a postgraduate","advisor evaluation"and"learning situation".Among them,the author divides the relationship between advisors and postgraduates into four parts:the academic guidance of the advisor,the daily interaction between the advisors and postgraduates,the professional ethics of the advisor,and the cooperation between the advisors and postgraduates.The postgraduate growth is divided into five dimensions:efficacy,burnout,learning initiative,execution and self-motivation.And then,use different dimensions to explain the development of postgraduates and the growth of individual ability.The paper has expanded the literature in this field in terms of research content and analytical techniques.Through the analysis of the data,the author finds that after controlling the individual and family factors of the postgraduates and the personal factors of the advisors,the academic support of the advisor,the daily interaction of the advisor and postgraduates,the professional ethics of the advisor,and the academic cooperation of the advisor and postgraduates have a significant positive impact on the growth of postgraduates.Therefore,the relationship between advisors ang postgraduates plays a key role in the growth of postgraduates.Maintaining a good relationship between advisors and postgraduates is a core element in promoting the growth of postgraduates.The paper provides some data-based evidence for advisors,postgraduates,and education administrations.
