With the continuing development and wide spread of smartphone technology and mobile network—smartphone application—as very important tools to expand the functions of smartphone,were also developed rapidly.There is a boom in applications in recent years.The push of policies and the demand of market accelerated the development of Fitness Application.As an emerging classification of smartphone application,fitness applications were designed to support users' fitness behaviour.College students is an enormous smartphone user group,they are familiar with operating of smartphone and using of mobile network.They have quite good ability to use the functions of fitness app and to find more new and better apps.As a classification of smartphone app,fitness apps were also being concerned and used widely.To research the smartphone fitness app's effectson college students' physical exercise,this thesis adopted literature material law,questionnaire method and interview method.Firstly,described functions of fitness app and theireffects on users.Secondly,analysed features of college student's physical exercise and using condition of fitness apps.Thirdly,this thesis analysed fitness app's effects on college students combined with using condition and physical exercise features.Following conclusions were given:(1)Smartphone fitness app can divide into 3 categories by their functions: Running App,Work Out App,and Sports Site Reservation App.Although these three categories have their own different functions and emphasises,but after all,they were all aimed to help users to have physical exercise and provided convenience to them.(2)Owing to college students' particular specificity of age,psychological and circumstance,the physical exercise of college students also has their own features: lack of exercise;the exercise methods are mainly focus on running and walking;lack of time and perseverance are main limitations for college students' physical exercise;(3)According to the research,fitness app is deemed essential and helpful by most of the college students,they think fitness app do have positive effects on their physical exercise.Fitness apps have positive effects on college students' knowing of themselves' sport amount,learn the method of physical exercise,develop a habit of physical exercise and expand their social contact.
