As a practical practice of social work philosophy and the main force of transmission of social work services,Social worker is the pillar of social work development.Although in recent years,the number of MS W students continued to grow,But few MSW students choose to be the social worker,poses a threat to the normal development of social work practices.Studying the career choice process of MSW students and analyze the Push and pull factors that affect their career choice is important to improve the employment rate of MSW students and strengthen the construction of social work personnel.Under the guidance of qualitative research method,this paper studies the 20 MSW students of N University by means of literature research,semi-structured interview and participatory observation,and sums up the career choice process of MSW students.And,under the guidance of the push-pull theory,further analysis of the push and pull factors that make them choose to be or not to be social worker.On this basis,I make personal recommendations in order to improve the employment rate of MSW students.The study found that,on the one hand,the career choice of MSW students is not static,they need consider whether to be the social worker at each stage;on the other hand,the career choice of MSW students is the result of the combination of multiple push and pull factors,both the social work of its own push and pull,but also push and pull of other professions,in addition,also includes some social factors and individual factors.
