China is a multilingual country with fifty-six nationalities.China is devoted to promoting bilingual teaching in minority areas in order to promote the stable and rapid development of all ethnic groups in various regions and meet the needs of cultural heritage and communication.As the carrier of bilingual education,compiling preschool bilingual "teaching materials" that are suitable for ethnic areas has a direct influence on the teaching quality of preschool bilingual education in ethnic areas.So this study treats”Rural bilingual kindergarten books in Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region”(referred to bilingual books hereinafter)and teachers(including preschool bilingual teachers using this set of teaching materials in eight counties and one city of Aksu Prefecture in Xinjiang,preschool bilingual training teachers and experts of "teaching materials" editorial group)as objects of the study,analyzing the language materials and contents of "teaching materials" from the text,carrying out investigations on the applicability of "teaching materials" in children,teachers and environment,analyzing the problems and putting some suggestions forward in order to put some practicable suggestions forward to compile preschool bilingual "teaching materials" scientifically and improve the quality of preschool bilingual education.We get three conclusions through the text analysis of "teaching materials" :One."Teaching materials" has an imbalance in the matter of themes and length of language materials.Two.There are many problems in the vocabulary selection of language materials.Three.The covers and illustrations of "teaching materials" are not matched with the contents.We get three conclusions through the surveys on using situations of "teaching materials" :One.The language materials in "teaching materials" is much difficult and lack of local contents.two.The level of teachers is uneven and they can not use "teaching materials" effectively.Three.The support conditions of using "teaching materials" are limited.We find four problems on the applicability of "teaching materials" in children,teachers and environment combined the text analysis and the actual situations of investigations:One.They are lack of analysis and construction of preschool ethnicbilingual "teaching materials".Two.The preschool ethnic bilingual "teaching materials" are much difficult.Three.They are lack of professional teachers and there are phenomenons that teachers' professions are not matched.It is difficult to use "teaching materials".Four.There is a big difference on the applicability of "teaching materials" in different regions.Therefore,we put four following suggestions forward against the problems on the applicability of preschool bilingual "teaching materials" in ethnic areas:One.Paying much attention to the analysis and construction on preschool ethnic bilingual "teaching materials".Two.Adjusting the difficulty on preschool ethnic bilingual "teaching materials" reasonably.Three.Controlling the access threshold strictly and enlarging the training of preschool ethnic bilingual teachers and "teaching materials".Four.According to local conditions and using the suggestions of "teaching materials" reasonably.
