Since the world had entered the aging society,how to deal with the problems caused by aging population is the focus of policy.China,whose economy develops slower than other developed countries,is undergoing the largest and fastest aging process.The large aging population will bring a series of social problems which will affect economy development and modernity construction.As an important solution of aging population,elderly education is emphasized by the government.The social desires a systemic and comprehensive research to the elderly education.Curriculum construction,which is the center of teaching,directly influences the teaching quality.However,with the unclear aim,unitary content and imperfect administration,our elderly curriculum design is still immature.How to make the curriculum design more scientific is important.Through the investigation of Yunnan college for the aged,Jing Anqu college for the aged and Jinling college for the aged,I try to recognize the current learning needs of these elders,conclude some distinguished features and analyze the problems.Based on these investigations,I want to raise some suggestions on curriculum construction.My research is divided into six parts.The first part is introduction.It's about some backgrounds and the value of the topic.It has collected some papers about the development of elderly education and the curriculum of elderly education.The second part is the related learning theories.These theories showed the different level among the learning needs,the learning characters and principles of curriculum design.The third part is the analysis of the data from investigation.Through collecting related documents and on-the-spot interviews,I made a questionnaire to gather information.The fourth part is the analysis of our curriculum design,which includes the distinguished features of our curriculum,the problems we faced,and their origins.And I raise some aspects we can learn from American elderly curriculum.The fifth part is some suggestions.I put forward some advice on the principles of curriculum design,the improvement direction and insurance measures.The sixth part is concluding remark part,which clarifies the weakness and difficulties of my research.
