Currently,China’s aging level is deepening.As one of the important measures to address the aging population,education for the elderly plays an important role,Community elderly education has the characteristics of mass,flexibility,and convenience,occupying a dominant position in elderly education.However,the spatial research of community elderly education is still at an early stage of development.On the other hand,"active aging" proposes a holistic view of aging,providing a new way to address aging.Therefore,this article attempts to combine the community elderly schools with the "active aging" theory to jointly deal with the aging of the population.This article takes the Yichuan Road Community School for the Elderly in Putuo District as the research object,using questionnaire survey,literature search,field research,and comprehensive analysis.Taking "active aging" as a theoretical guidance,combining the three pillars of "health","participation",and "security",we reconsider the needs of the elderly,propose design strategies suitable for community elderly schools,and design the community elderly school on Yichuan Road,Putuo District.This paper focuses on the following four aspects:(1)Reconsider the needs of the elderly with the theory of "active aging":Analyze the three pillars of the "active aging" theory:"health","participation",and"security",discuss the eight detailed connotations of physical health,mental health,social health,teaching participation,recreational participation,social participation,environmental security and environmental comfort.(2)Analyze the existing problems of community elderly schools:This paper selects three community elderly schools in Shanghai to investigate,research and analyze community elderly schools and elderly students,and then finds the similarities and differences between community elderly schools,summarizes the existing problems,and provides a realistic basis for the later research on the design strategy of community elderly schools.(3)Put forward the design strategy of community schools for the elderly under the theory of "active aging":Combining information from field research and questionnaire surveys,from the perspective of solving problems,five design strategies are summarized,namely,the systematic strategy from "fragmentary"to "overall",the security strategy from "obstacle" to "unimpeded",the comfort strategy from "use" to"experience" Healing strategies from "appearance" to "essence",and social strategies from "single" to "compound"(4)Carry out design practice:Apply design strategies to design practice,improve the spatial quality of community elderly schools,promote the development of community elderly education,and further achieve "active aging".
