It is a common mode of modern teaching to integrate advanced science and technology into teaching practice.Documentary is one kind of the various video resources.Applying documentary into teaching practice agrees with both biological features and teaching content of junior-school biology.In summing up the past experience of using video resources in biology teaching,the theme of this paper is how to change the monotony of teaching mode and derailment and other issues,establish and improve the documentary application process.On the basis of information processing theory and other related theories,this article combines with the application in the reality of documentary research application in biology teaching of junior middle school through the investigation and study of various methods,aiming at finding out the inherent law of the usage of documentary in biology classroom teaching.For how to identify the documentary category,teachers should strictly grasp the principles according to its characteristics,such as science,suitability and effectiveness and so on.While applying the United States and other foreign documentary into classroom teaching,teachers should pay particular attention to the translation,content selection and other aspects.In the application of documentary in junior-school biology,three stage should be given to control,respectively,it should be given full preparation and guidance before playing the documentary,teachers can choose to ask students some questions;teachers should take different approaches according to the actual teaching needs while playing the documentary;teachers should sum up the content or ask students to answer the questions after playing the documentary,and complete the whole teaching naturally.This research is based on two different classes' students from Grade 8 of a junior school in Shenzhen.By using the same materials about "The main groups of animals"from Grade 8 biology book chapter one,different kinds of teaching methods will be chosen to test two classes' student.After analyzing all questionnaires results and comments of those two different teaching methods,the study concluded that the usage of documentary teaching can make the classroom atmosphere active,enhance the learning enthusiasm of students,and improve teaching effectiveness.
