Guiding Rural Elderly Association To Undertake Home-Based Senior Care In Rural Area

Having stepped into the aging society,the elderly pension problem in China will be a major issue to the whole society which need to be addressed.In the process of implementing the home-based senior care in rural areas,the rural elderly associations,which served as self-serving elderly organizations,can play a positive role.Rural elderly associations may become a new trend to promote the home-based senior care service in the future.Thus,based on the intervention of social work in old age care of rural areas,this study summarizes the working experience of helping the elderly association in Shangjie town,Minhou County.Under the guidance of welfare pluralism and social work advocacy model,based on the data of the demands of home-based senior care research in rural areas,and combining with qualitative analysis and empirical analysis methods,this study explores how to promote rural elderly association to carry out standardized construction,and guide the rural elderly associations to undertake the tasks of home-based senior care services in communities under the social work advocacy model.Firstly,through the literature review,this study retrospects the research status of home-based senior care and the elderly associations in home and abroad.we found that the researches on home-based senior are mainly focused on urban communities,but paid little attention to home-based senior care in rural area.There are two main types of researches in domestic elderly associations,one is the elderly association operation mechanism researches,the other is the elderly associations' function researches.Generally speaking,the research data on the combination of home-based senior care and elder associations are very scarce.In the second part,this study gives a brief review on the development of Fujian elderly associations.It summarizes three layers of home-based senior care which were taken by different elderly organizations in different economic situations in Fujian province.By doing so,it aims to get some inspirations from the past experiences to promote home-based senior care of elderly associations in Minhou County.In the third part,this study focuses on the research of three villages in Shangjie town to implement the basic conditions of housing pension and the demand of their home-based senior care services.It assumes that these elderly associations can play a greater pension function.Moreover,in the process of assisting the construction of the elder associations of the three villages in this town,we should promote these elderly associations consciously,try to practice the home-based senior care services,and try to seek steady progression in rural home pension through multi-party advocacy.Further,we should form practical experience featured with local characteristics,and evaluate the effectiveness of the construction of the elder association.Finally,two main conclusions are drawn in this study.First,the social work in the project,which aims to promote the standardization of rural elderly associations has achieved good results.Second,the home-based senior care model advocated by social work agencies is generally accepted by the elderly associations and the communities.The last chapter summarizes the experience,hopping achieve self-improving by sharing the experience and social work.
