Case Service Practice And Reflection Of Hospice Care For The Elderly In Rural Area

At present,China has entered the stage of moderate aging,and the form of population aging is becoming more and more serious.The disability of the elderly,illness and other reasons have exacerbated the pressure of relatives’ care,which highlights the urgency of hospice care services in China and puts forward new challenges to hospice care in China.The proportion of China’s rural elderly population is larger than that of the urban elderly population.The problem of no care for the rural empty nest elderly and the left behind elderly is prominent.Coupled with the lack of resources and economic constraints,the hospice care of the rural elderly is easy to be ignored.The hospice care of the rural elderly needs to be paid attention to and solved urgently.Based on the research of the tutor,the author found that the rural elderly prefer to choose dying at home,which attracted the author’s interest.Therefore,through consulting a large number of relevant literature,the author found that recuperation at home can not only save medical resources and reduce the economic burden of the family,but also meet the wishes of the elderly to be accompanied by their family in the last stage of life.China’s hospice care is mainly concentrated in hospital hospice wards and nursing homes.Usually,the government purchases services and qualified institutions provide organized and institutionalized services.There is basically no service for social workers to provide hospice care at home in their personal capacity,while the provision of hospice care services for the rural elderly is a topic of concern in social work.Based on the reason that my hometown neighbors asked the author for help,after asking the school supervision opinions,the author returned to his hometown for practice,and provided hospice care case services for the rural elderly as a volunteer by using the professional knowledge of social work.In the service process of the case,the author uses the research methods of observation and interview to collect data.Under the guidance of social support theory,advantage perspective theory and traditional Taoist concept of life and death,the author uses professional knowledge to carry out demand assessment,scheme formulation,scheme implementation and service effect assessment,and provides "whole person" services to alleviate physical pain,pay attention to psychological changes,maintain social relations and pay attention to spiritual needs.In the service process,encourage family members,link community resources and pay attention to the feedback of the case owner to provide more perfect services.The author gives full play to the role of village doctors and neighbors,realizes cross domain cooperation,assists the case owner to face the dying state with a positive attitude,adheres to the idea of helping others and self-help,helps the case owner review the life course and educate the case owner on death.Through four months of service,the service effect of home rest for the elderly is obvious,which has played an important role in relieving pain,psychological counseling,relationship maintenance and caring for spiritual needs.The author makes professional reflection,summarizes the problems existing in the service,calls on people to pay attention to the rural elderly dying,encourages the hospice care mode of cross professional cooperation,advocates the provision of professional services with scientific attitudes and methods,breaks the traditional concept,advocates the implementation of hospice care services at home in rural areas,and then explores a reference mode suitable for the rural elderly dying at home,so as to further promote the localized development of social work,It embodies the humanitarian spirit.
