Research On Social Support Of Family Care For Rural Disabied Elderly

The aging of Chinese society is deepening,and the care of disabled elderly people is getting more and more attention.The care of the disabled elderly is different from the care of other elderly.Its care has the characteristics of long time and high requirements,which is an important issue of the elderly care service system.Family care is currently the first choice of care for most disabled elderly in rural areas,and has advantages that other care methods cannot match.However,as the population of disabled elderly in rural areas increases and the demand for care continues to grow,the single method of relying on family members for care cannot meet the needs of disabled elderly.The importance of building social support to family caregivers has become increasingly prominent and needs to be addressed.Establishing a complete social support system of family care for disabled elderly people can enable family caregivers to fulfill their duty of care and improve the quality of family care,which is of great significance to solving the problem of long-term care for disabled elderly in rural areas.The thesis focuses on the social support needs of family caregivers,using Maslow’s demand theory,welfare pluralism theory and social support theory,using qualitative analysis and quantitative models to discuss from five aspects.The first part is the analysis of the social support of family care for the disabled elderly.First,it explains the particularity of family care and the current dilemma,and secondly explains the necessity of building social support for family care,and explains the types and subjects of social support.Finally,it sorts out the development of social support for family care of disabled elderly.The second part investigates the social support situation of home care for the disabled elderly,outlines the basic situation of the disabled elderly,family caregivers and the status quo of family care.The third part carries out correlation analysis and Logistic regression analysis on the factors affecting the social support needs of family caregivers,and summarizes the results.The fourth part draws on foreign advanced methods of providing social support for family care of disabled elderly,and summarizes the experience and enlightenment for our country.The fifth part proposes policy recommendations for improving the social support for family care of disabled elderly people from the macro,meso,and micro levels on the basis of social support overview,field research and empirical analysis results.Studies have found that existing social support cannot effectively meet the needs and ease the pressure of family care.Factors such as gender,economic pressure,nursing pressure,and length of care are significant factors affecting the social support needs of family caregivers.The thesis organizes the research results and draws on the advanced and feasible methods of foreign social support.Improve laws and regulations at the macro level,strengthen the guidance of filial piety;at the meso level,enhance community medical care capabilities,improve the level of medical care,and standardize the services of existing social organizations;at the micro level,leverage the social advantages of acquaintances in rural areas,improve acquaintances’ social neighborhood mutual assistance network,and improve families Self-support ability.
