For a long period of time,biology course in junior middle school has been considered as a minor subject.Some students have little interest in biology and are lack of motivation,which has seriously affected the efficiency of teaching.In view of this,under the guidance of her internship supervisor,the author explored to reform on the classroom-teaching approach during her internship in a middle school,using Miniquest teaching model optimized by mind mapping in classroom teaching to attract students' interest in biology while enhancing students'learning ability for this course.Miniquest is a simplified form of Webquest,applying student-centered principle to teaching activities.This model is in line with the requirements of "teachers should guide students in autonomous learning,cooperative learning,and inquiry learning"that are emphasized in the new curriculum reform.Mind map consists of different colors of lines,symbols,and images to form a complete network of thoughts by focusing on the theme of the center and each branch theme and sub-theme to reach the goal of strengthening memory and expanding thinking.In the process of teaching practice,the author combined mind mapping with Miniquest,using Mind Mapping to optimize Miniquest teaching model,and tried to apply it to teaching practice.The results show that scientific usage of mind maps has obviously optimized the Miniquest teaching model.It can effectively enhance students' interest in learning,arouse students' awareness of cooperation and innovation,and significantly improve the efficiency of classroom teaching.
