At this moment, information technology has been a special position in the compulsory education stage. In fact, the key problem of the education reform research is how to promote the effectiveness of the middle school information technology teaching and how to use information technology to assist the teaching of other subjects.MiniQuest is a useful tool for exploring internet and technology and is derived from WebQuest. Essentially it gives students to explore and learn on their own. However, this teaching style overlooks the process of concept development and lacks tools that help students study. Mind Map help students visualize what they learning and improve knowledge retention. At the same time, Mind Map trains students to be more self-directed in learning and promotes creativity. This article process the incorporation of Mind Map into MiniQuest to maximize teaching efficacy which would benefit both instructors and students.Through literature review and survey conduction, we have systematically analyzed MiniQuest and Mind Map. We hypothesize that the incorporation of Mind Map into MiniQuest would improve the system and enhance student learning and subsequently designed a new teaching method. We then tested out the enhance system in real life middle school. Through surveys and extensive analysis we see that the modified system can not only stimulate student interest in learning, improve learning outcome, but also teach students to function better as a team. In addition, Mind Map help teachers to link new knowledge to old knowledge and promote intellectual development. We conclude that the modified version of MiniQuest, with Mind Map added to the system, is a great tool for student learning and we strongly recommend all middle school to take up this teaching strategy.
