Research On The Quality Assurance System For Master Degree Thesis Based On Process Management

With the rapid development of China's economy,the high-quality talents are more and more needed.As a main channel of high-quality personnel training,graduate education has been developing rapidly in recent years.Forming a connecting link between the preceding undergraduate education and the following doctoral graduate education,postgraduate education is the foundation and key of high-quality talents training.It plays an irreplaceable role in personnel training system.However,with the rapid expansion of the enrollment scale in recent years,the contradiction between quality and scale is becoming more and more obvious.As an important index to measure the quality of postgraduate education,the quality of the master degree thesis has aroused widespread concern.In order to push forward the work and ensure the quality of the thesis,all the training institutions have developed the thesis management system,but there still exists problems of imperfect system construction and inadequate system implementation.Therefore,by using the research methods of literature study,questionnaire,interview and text analysis and taking N university as an example,with the Process Management as theoretical basis,this paper puts forward suggestions for improving relevant management systems and strengthening their implementation after summarizing the problems in the existing quality assurance systems of master degree thesis and analyzing the causes of those problems.The research is mainly divided into six parts.The first part is the introduction of background,significance of the subject,and the research status at home and abroad,the research methods and route adopted,the innovations and deficiencies of this research.The second part expounds the concrete application of Process Planning,Process Implementing,Process Monitoring and Process Improving of Process Management in the quality assurance system of master degree thesis after explaining the related concepts and theoretical basis.The third part,taking N university as an example,analyzes the status quo of its master degree thesis management systems and their implementation through analysis of the system texts,questionnaires and interviews and summed up the problems: the examination of thesis topic selection is not fully implemented;the check of thesis proposal is not strict;the mid-term examination and academic oral pre-defense system is absent or not completely implemented;the human examination in academic norms is insufficient;theimplementation of thesis review and oral defense system is not strict and experts' suggestions are not executed.The fourth part analyzes the main causes of the problems in master degree thesis management systems and their implementation: the cultivation units' valuing the establishing of degree points while ignoring quality constructing,valuing result reviewing while ignoring process managing and valuing system formulating while ignoring implement supervising;the postgraduate tutors' valuing result checking while ignoring process guiding and valuing system forming while ignoring guiding quality;and postgraduates' valuing degree obtaining while ignoring process inputting and valuing system forwarding while ignoring requirement achieving.The fifth part,based on the existing problems and their causes,puts forward to improve the related systems to strengthen the Process Management and guarantee the detailing of requirements and standardizing of procedures in Process Planning,publishing of requirements and strengthening of tutorial guidance in Process Implementing,executing of standards and reinforcing of review in Process Monitoring and checking of revision in order to ensure the suggestions of the experts being adopted in Process Improving;and at the same time,strengthening the supervision mechanism,establishing the elimination mechanism,carrying out flexible educational system and executing the quality accountability system in order to ensure the actual implementation of the quality assurance system for the master degree thesis,so that all the links can meet the requirements,and thus further ensuring and improving the overall quality of the thesis.The sixth part is the conclusion and prospect part which gives a summary of this research,and puts forward the prospects of establishing quality consciousness,forming quality culture and implementing quality assurance measures as fundamental ways to improve the quality of master degree thesis.
