With the development of our social politics,economy and culture,colleges and universities have already entered into the center of our society.The core concept of modern university governance emphasizes the collective governance of diverse relative elements,such as university administration staff and teachers.Teachers and administration staff are the two fundamental groups in modern universities.It has already become the basic value orientation that they jointly govern universities and decide important events by negotiation,such as resource distribution and development goals in modern university governance.In real life,increasing internal cultural conflicts in universities result in the alienation of the relationship between teachers and administration staff.The rising concept of university governance leads to increasing importance of academic power and teachers' academic status.Besides,the spread of the concept provides a challenge of professional quality for university teachers,which further brings about their role adaptation.Regarding“theoretical exploration,practical investigation and strategy construction”as the thinking of university teachers' role adaptation in the research of university governance,this essay first clearly theoretically introduces the connotation of university governance and teachers' role adaptation by literature review.It lays the theoretical foundation of offering helpful suggestions and measures for university teachers' role adaptation.Then,this essay investigates teachers' practical situation in university governance,taking the teachers in S University as research targets.Finally,it proposes relative measures to improve the ability of their role adaptation on the basis of theoretical research achievements and practical investigation.This essay is divided into six parts.The first part,as introduction,mainly introduces the reason of proposing this thesis,reviews relative research findings about foreign and domestic university governance as well as teachers' role adaptation and proposes the purpose,meaning,study ideas and methods of this research.The second part is theoretical exploration.It makes a definition of the following concepts,“governance”?“university governance”?“role adaptation”and “teachers' role adaptation”.Besides,it analyzes the theoretical basis including knowledge governance theory,communicative action theory and intellectuals role theory.The third part is current status investigation.Taking teachers in S University as an example,it makes a questionnaire related to current status of university teachers' role adaptation.The investigation falls into two aspects.On one hand,it investigates the cognitive status of university teachers' role,including the cognition of teachers' common role and role as governor.On the other hand,it investigates the current foundation of university teachers in university governance,including academic events participation and administrative events participation.The fourth part analyzes the issues.On the basis of research findings,it analyzes the reason for the lack of university teachers as governors in university governance.Specifically,it includes the following points.First,the concept disagreement caused by “visual difference” between university subjects brings about obvious cultural barrier.Second,the involution of university governance results in that teachers' subjectivity is clearly missing and they become objective existence.Next,the phenomenon of “internal governance” under the leadership administrative power is obvious increasing.Teachers' legitimate rights are obscured.Besides,the Materialization Logic of university knowledge activities prevails.Teachers' capacity of collective action decreases.The fifth parts is countermeasure exploration.In terms of real problems and on the basis of knowledge governance theory and communicative action theory,it proposes corresponding suggestions.That is to emphasize teachers' subjective status of governor in the establishment of environment governance,to define teachers' role as governor in the creation of collective governance culture and to improve their public rational awareness in self-construction of “Life Space”.The sixth part summarizes the deficiency of this research and future expectations.
