China is a developing agricultural country,women who are the main force of agricultural production,occupy a large number of rural population.After the founding of the people’s Republic of China,with the deepening development of reform,the popularization of compulsory education and the idea of equality between men and women,women participated in social construction in a variety of ways,promoting changes in their own status at the same time,adding a strong color for the new era of the development of socialist economy.With the continuous development of urbanization and the adjustment of the rural labor market,rural women have changed from the traditional employment mode,who mainly engaged in domestic work and agricultural production,to a new flexible employment model under the market economy system.This also provides rich exploration space for rural women themselves and researchers.Rural women,due to their low level of education,lacking of updating and enrichment of knowledge,have obvious disadvantages in finding employment in non-agricultural areas;in addition,they are subject to non-subjective factors,such as traditional culture and gender roles,which making rural women face difficulties in different aspects and degrees in the process of transferring to non-agricultural employment.Based on the theory of empowerment and social learning,from the perspective of feminism,this paper takes 8 women in Y Town,J City,Gansu Province as the research object,and obtains the first-hand research materials by using the method of group work,combining with the previous investigation and interviews.During the development of the group activities,the group design of five different themes were used to fully realize the potential of women,to help them obtain support from mutual help groups,skills training,etc.,while proceeding from the practice of social work,To explore the effective ways for social work to intervene in the skills training of rural women in northwest China and promote the development of rural women themselves.Finally,the author discusses the application of group work method and social work theory in skills training of rural women in Northwest China.
