Happiness is the unremitting pursuit of a number of people throughout their life and a number people now regard education as the major measure to obtain happiness.Thus,the relationship between education and happiness has become a hot topic in the education circle in the recent years.School education is also gifted with a new important task,that is,to teach students happiness.Targeting at the worse effects of happiness education at school,challenges during happiness implementation at school are mainly reflected from the perspective of social control.The happiness education during primary and middle school stage in China is taken as the research object.Aiming at these challenges,what countermeasures can be proposed faced with the challenges in happiness education is reflected starting from the social control theory.In this research,starting from the social control essence of education,the deep influencing factors for happiness education at school are analyzed and the happiness education at school is reviewed,which not only facilitates deepening the researchers' concerns on issues in this aspect but also facilitates expanding the vision of research problems and providing theoretical support based on the perspective of social control.In this paper,firstly,the literature overview on relevant foreign and Chinese research is accomplished through referring to and analyzing the existing literature materials so as to clearly analyze the relationship between students' happiness and school education,the necessity of implementation of happiness education at school and the relationship between students' happiness and social control.Secondly,the current state of happiness education at school is investigated and researched.The questionnaires are distributed to four primary and middle schools to interview and observe the school life state of teachers and students in these schools so as to analyze what realistic challenges exist in the happiness education at school on earth from the limitations in functions of school education and social constraints on happiness education.Thirdly,the reasons why happiness education at school are faced with challenges under the social control perspective are theoretically analyzed.The aspects where school education is specifically controlled in the society and inside the school,which leads to challenges in happiness education at school,are considered.Finally,targeting at the challenges,corresponding solutions are found and appropriate suggestions are proposed for happiness education at school.Through the research in this paper,the following conclusion can be drawn:1)Education should take students' happiness as the ultimate goal and the education process itself should be the process that students experience happiness.So,implementation of happiness education at school can facilitate students' healthy growth,construction of harmonious campus and harmonious social development.2)Under the social control perspective,there are challenges in two aspects in the happiness education during the primary and middle school stage:the first one is the limitation of school's education functions,including limitation of classroom activities,teachers and knowledge regulations;the second one is the social constraint on happiness education at school.,including relatively close environment,single sense of worth and limited material conditions.3)Challenges in happiness education during the primary and middle school stage under the social control perspective mainly result from external social control and internal school control.The external social control includes control of economic foundation,control of political consciousness and control of cultural traditions while the internal school control includes control of class organization,control of teacher groups and control of course contents.4)Solutions to challenges in happiness education during the primary and middle school stage under the social control perspective mainly lie in two aspects:firstly,it is necessary to correctly face the external social control on school education,including constructing relatively comprehensive education contents,advocating humanistic education measures and shaping new teacher-student relationship.Secondly,it is necessary to improve the internal school control on students' development,including correctly orienting the happiness education,enhancing educators' awareness of happiness education and strengthening the demonstration effects of educators in the class activities.
