Under the background of higher requirement for the students' historical key com petency,which is originate from the new curriculum reform and the college entrance e xamination proposition,cultivating the students' comprehensive qualities has becom e the primary target in teaching.Traditional teaching pattern could not accommodate t he curriculum reform and adapt to the time.Likewise,history teaching is facing mor e challenge.Considering the reasons above,this article studied on the thematic teachi ng at history course,which will help to change teachers' teaching concept as well as b oost the enthusiasm of the art students to learn history,and cultivate their key compete ncy on history course,also explore a more effective teaching method to prepare for G aokao.This essay discussed thematic teaching in history course for art students at high s chool that includeing the background,the theoretical basis,and the necessity,especiall y the implementation method and the existing problems.On the base of analyzing lear ning situation of the students,thematic teaching design can improve the effective teac hing of history class and improve the historical comprehensive quality of art students.From the effect of the actual teaching practice,it is essential to carry out the thematic t eaching course in history,which is a more efficient classroom model.
