The CPIK project is a Chinese language teaching project in Korea signed by the Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters and Korea National Institute of International Education in 2012.In Seoul, the teaching object under this project is the middle school student, the Chinese language teaching mode is cooperative teaching. This mode accelerates the development of Chinese language teaching in Seoul. However,it will inevitably lead to problems. Therefore,it is necessary to discover problems and sum up experiences in the investigation and practice in a timely manner and constantly explore teaching methods. The paper adopts the methods ofquestionnaires, interviews and other research methods, with 276 students of three middle schools in Seoul, the Chinese volunteer teachers in 2016 and 2017 as the research objects, combined with the author's teaching experience and the first-line data collected during the teaching period. The status quo of Chinese language teaching in Seoul's CPIK program is described and analyzed in a comprehensive way.Specifically,it describes students' motivation in learning Chinese, interest points and difficulties in learning, attitudes towards learning Chinese, teaching methods, teaching forms, and Chineseteaching funds. The survey results show that there are still some problems in Chinese teaching under this project, for example students' learning attitude is not active, communication between Chinese and Korean teachers is not smooth, and Chinese teaching funds are not enough. In response to these problems, the paper put forward some suggestions in terms of students, teachers, and teaching resources, such as helping students understand the importance of learning Chineseactively, setting up incentive mechanisms to motivate students, strengthening and improving training for local Korean teachers, increasing the number of volunteer teachers, enriching teaching resources and improving teaching equipment, etc. It is expected to provide experience and suggestions for the follow-up volunteer teachers involved in the CPIK program, and to provide assistance for the development of Chinese teaching in this region.
