With the deep implementation of the new curriculum reform in basic education,robotics education has gradually carried out in primary and secondary schools.Robot teaching has the characteristics of interdisciplinarity and practical operation.The educational significance of cultivating students' comprehensive ability has also been recognized by the society.However,robotics education in our country is still in the initial stage of development.Most robot teaching activities are carried out by interest groups or robot competitions.In the robot education process,only robot discipline-based knowledge and skills are taught,there is a lack of integration of robot knowledge and other subject knowledge,and the robot education activities did not pay too much attention to students training in innovative thinking and hands-on ability.In foreign countries,in order to better cultivate students' creative abilities to adapt to the advancement of science and technology,some scholars have proposed the idea that integrate robot education with STEM education.The concept of STEM education is to integrate science,technology,engineering,and mathematics.It has unique advantages in cultivating students' comprehensive ability.In order toprovide new ideas for the development of robotics education,this study attempts to integrate STEM education concepts into robotics education,use this as an entry point to explore the robot teaching model.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)The paper combed present situation of the robot education at home and abroad and the status of application of educational robots,investigated and analyzed the curriculum,teaching objectives and teaching environment of robot teaching in primary and secondary schools.This paper expounds the connotation,characteristics and literacy of STEM education,and explains the close relationship between STEM education and roboticseducation.(2)Combining the idea of STEM education with the current situation of robot teaching,the constituent elements of teaching model have been established.The typical teaching mode in STEM education(integrated scientific inquiry 5E teaching mode and teaching mode based on engineering design)was analyzed.On this basis,a robot teaching mode based on STEM is constructed,in which the three core links of the teaching process arescientific inquiry,engineering practice and sharing exchanges.(3)According to the robot teaching mode designed,two teaching cases,such as "manual generator" and "audio control car",were developed on the educational robot platform of "Abilix",and the teaching activities were implemented to actively explore the application effect of teaching mode.The feedback information was collected through multiple evaluation methods such as classroom test,evaluation scale and interview exchange,so as to objectively evaluate the effectiveness of the teaching model.The experimental data show that the robot teaching mode based on STEM promotes students' mastery of robot knowledge,and deepens students' understanding and application of subject knowledge.It also helps to cultivate students' creative thinking and creative ability.
