With the in-depth implementation of the new curriculum reform of primary education, educational robotics has gradually become an indispensable part of the information technology course in primary and secondary schools. Its educational value has been recognized by the society.Due to the characteristics of cross-convergence and practical operation of educational robotics, some scholars have proposed the idea of integrating robotics with mathematics, physics, science and other disciplines. It aims to achieve the purpose of enriching the teaching of disciplines. In order to carry out educational robotics effectual, this research is guided by the concept of STEM and uses the UBTECH as a platform.Simultaneously this paper uses project pedagogy as a carrier to carry out empirical research on educational robotics. The main work of the study is as follows:Firstly, the literature analysis method is used to summarize the relevant literature research. It aims to expound the research background, research problems, research significance,STEM,educational robotics and its research status at home and abroad.Secondly, the action research method is used to analyze the teaching objectives, learner characteristics, learning content and robot discipline characteristics of the robot course based on relevant theories.Under the guidance of the STEM concept, the project themes are designed according to the principles of project design, and the interdisciplinary knowledge points that associated with project themes are determined.Based on the determination of the project theme,a teaching design model of STEM robot project is constructed. Finally, students from the Junior High School of the Runcheng Campus of Yunnan Normal University Experimental Middle School were selected as the teaching objects for one-semester teaching practice.Through the analysis of the implementation results and effects,it is found that the teaching practice of the STEM-based junior high school robot project not only improves the students' interest in learning robots, but also promotes the cultivation of students' creativity, problem solving, teamwork and communication. It is also conductive to students learning other disciplines.
