A Study On Green Skills In Vocational Education

With the outbreak of the explosion of population,economic crisis,local turmoil,and ecological destruction,the green development has gradually become a glorious pursuit of social development in all countries.From an international perspective,international organizations headed by the United Nations constantly advance the green skills development strategy by convening related meetings,issuing research reports and policy proposals,etc.Developed countries such as the United States also incorporate green skills development into their national development strategies.Under the international trend of green development,China has begun to examine the heavy costs of environmental pollution and waste of resources that have been paid in the course of economic development.At the policy level,under the guidance of green development theory,strategic documents like '"Made in China 2025","the 13th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development(2016-2020)",and "the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Several Issues Concerning Comprehensively Deepening Reform”were promulgated.At a practical level,the Ministry of Education,higher education institutions,and vocational schools actively promoted the 2016 APEC "Green Skills in Vocational Education System Development" program.Based on this,weighing the relationship among economic development,social development and environmental governance through the development of green skills in vocational education has become an important task of global development in the future,which is also the focus of Chinese vocational education reform and development.This thesis is divided into four chapters:The first chapter is introduction,which explains the research background and significance of green skills in vocational education,sorts out research achievements related to green skills in vocational education,and introduces the research thought,basic contents,research methods and innovation points of green skills in vocational education.The second chapter is about the rise of green skills in vocational education,which is expounded from three perspectives:connotation perspective of green skills and its characteristics review,theoretical basis of green skills,and the realistic examination of green skills.The third chapter is about international comparison of green skills in vocational education.In response to the challenges brought about by green development like the economy,society and environment,international organizations such as the United Nations,the European Union,the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development,and International Labor Organization have put forward various elements that are suitable for the member countries of each organization from three aspects:strategies of green skills development,content of green skills development and green skills in vocational education.The fourth chapter is about the development of Chinese green skills in vocational education.Based on the theoretical basis,practical investigation and foreign research experience of green skills,the green skills development in Chinese vocational education should focus on taking measures from four aspects:The first is to build a sustainable vocational education system;the second is to build a training framework that embodies green skills;the third is to optimize the education resource database for green skills cultivation;and the fourth is to strengthen the research and development of green skills.This thesis offers a preliminary discussion about the green skills of vocational education with the method of qualitative research in order to provide meaningful ideas and available suggestions for placing heavy emphasis on developing the green skills in Chinese vocational education.
