The present world is experiencing great changes and contemporary China is undergoing a series of extensive and profound transformations.Cultivating citizens with socialist core values is a demand for China of an increasingly developing society.This makes new claims for the education of motherland,especially compulsory education.History education is a foundation course in humanities and is of great significance to the comprehensive development of students.The history course in compulsory education period is foundational and is conducive to students'understanding of the development of human society,contemporary China and the present world.As students' main carrier for learning history,history textbooks play an important role in the process of teaching.After the implementation of nine-year compulsory education,People's Education Press published the 1992 edition,the 2001 edition and the 2016 edition of middle school history textbooks.The 2016 edition textbooks were published and put into use in 2016.Through the comparison between the old and new history textbooks,we find the similarities and differences between the two editions.This will ease the teaching and learning in history education.Therefore,this article compares the history textbooks of middle school published in 2001 and 2016 and gives some suggestions on the use of the new textbooks.Firstly,this article makes a comparison between the 2001 and 2016 edition history textbooks from the perspective of the structure,including text system and text auxiliary system.Secondly,the two editions of the textbooks are compared in terms of specific content,including content arrangement,knowledge point selection and historical facts conclusion and evaluation.Finally,through comparing the similarities and differences between the two editions,we summarize the advantages and disadvantages,and give some teaching suggestions on making good use of history textbooks combining certain part of the text content.
