"The attitude determines everything",students' attitudes toward mathematics somehow determine their study effects.Is there a way to improve students' attitudes towards mathematics during the period between primary school and middle school? Some research has shown that integration of mathematical history education into their study has a positive effect on colleage students' attitudes towards mathematics.This research tries to find if there's also a positive effect on junior middle school students' attitudes by teaching them mathematical history,and to explore the current situation of the mathematical history education among middle school teachers.This research uses a questionnaire named as The Current Situation Of The Mathematical History Application Among Middle School Teachers,to understand the teachers' attitudes towards mathematical education.Two classes from one Chengdu public junior middle school are chosen to be the research targets,one as the experimental group,the other as the control group.The experiment uses two questionnaires named The Gauge of Middle School Students' Attitudes Towards Mathematics and The Table of Students' Feedbacks to follow up the influence on the experimental group after three month mathematical history education added into their daily study.In literature,there are few studies on junior middle school students' attitudes towards mathematics or on the influence of mathematical history educations on their attitudes.This is the key innovation of this research.Below are the research results.1.The application of mathematical history among middle school students.(1)Middle school teachers agree that there's a positive effects from mathematical education.(2)The current mathematical history education situation is much cry and little done.Lots of the teachers have the idea that they should pay more attention on the mathematical history education.2.The influence of mathematical history education on junior middle students.(1)Significant improvements are shown on junior middle school students' attitudes(both subject attitude and learning attitude)towards mathematics by the mathematical education.(2)Significant improvements are shown on junior middle school students' attitudes towards the subject of mathematics.(3)Significant improvements are shown on junior middle school students' attitudes towards the learning of mathematics.
