| People Who Give More Births Than Birth Quota Allows, namely, are the group of people who evade the control of the administrative department, giving birth which surpassing the plan or illegally. They usually migrated with all family members to get away from punishment, characterized by having "out of quota" children and escaping from supervision.During the period of one-child policy(1980-2015),having "out of quota" children is the deviant behaviour that will be punished by the state. As the propelling of the reform and open policy, the opportunity of population mobility grows, accompanying with a lot of floating population of birth-giving.They frequently migrate trans-regional and finishing their birth-giving willings during the migration process. As a special group in the Chinese society,as well as a group which is punished and ignored under the harsh environment of one-child policy, this dissertation is aiming to investigate them. The key observational object of this dissertation is the migrant people who bear children "out of quota" and live in Hongcun from the end of the twentieth century to the beginning of the twenty-first century.I intend to reveal a world of People Who Give More Births Than Birth Quota Allows by collecting the data in the fieldwork and using the methods of life history.Through analyzing the spatial attribute,it is easily to find out that,as a weak local administrative space,Hongcun gives these migrants a shelter to evade the punishment of supervision department by floating and dormancy. As for the identity attribute, they are outlander and marginal person, making living by marginal kinds of jobs.Due to a fact of illegal birth-giving,their dormancy shows an interaction between the national power and individual life.On the one hand, the individual uses the evade strategy,on the other hand, the operation of national power exists an inevitable no man’s land.Concerning this aspect, the life course of the people in Hongcun reflects a real experience of these people’s confrontation with a modern country under the nested structure of political power. When it comes to the culture of procreation, the principle motivation of these people is the gender favor of the male.In the aspect of family structure, they use a form of core family to live in the strange land, normally, they will bear more than one child,up to three or four children.Their foster configuration is like leaving their oldest child to the hometown’s relatives, and the child who born at the strange land will stay with their parents. The long-term departure within the relatives is one of the conformations of the floating family,so as the children’s foster.Discovering the culture of procreation of the migrant families in Hongcun discloses an alien reproductive conception with the official announcement and its forming mechanism. It also displays the actual existing situation of the Chinese migrant.By describing and recording the life process of the people in Hongcun along with the development and change within the country and society,we could restore a group’s life experience which has long been neglected, reviewing how can social processes influence the individual’s life. The community space, the family relationship, the change of the concept of procreation and even the management of the floating population inside are concerning multiple facets of Chinese society, the discussion in this dissertation is an attempt to gaze at the intrinsic texture of Chinese society. |
