The scale expansion intensifies master graduates' employment pressure, and with the triple dilemma of "age disadvantage","knowledge disadvantage" and "position ambiguity",the employment situation is more serious.Job satisfaction,as a key indicator of employment quality,is not only significant for personal career development, but also an important embodiment of graduate education quality. To accumulate human capital and find an ideal job, mobility of graduates is increasingly frequent. In this study,2743 academic master graduates in four western universities were surveyed, and a mixed method was conducted to analyze the impact of geographic and professional mobility on their job satisfaction. Conclusions are as follows:First, there is a significant positive correlation between late mover and repeat migrant and job satisfaction.Employment mobility will increase male's job satisfaction and education mobility will improve female's job satisfaction.Second, the impact mechanism of geographic mobility on job satisfaction is the process of transformation from tool rationality in the action layer to value rationality in the cognitive layer, during which individual is under double identity properties as "economic person" and "social person",motivated by prospective earnings and restricted by social situation.Third, the more relevant the master's major and the job,the higher the job satisfaction.Graduates form social science, science and engineering, agriculture can significantly improve job satisfaction by choosing jobs related to master's degree.Fourth, the impact mechanism of professional mobility on job satisfaction is the reflection of master's education function."Relevant theory" claims that under the cost-benefit framework,profession-related job can improve substantial satisfaction.Yet subject cultural differences, policy barriers and public preference have led graduates to slide into "irrelevant theory" passively.
