Bilingual education is such a complex and significant aspect of talent cultivation in Xinjiang,a key area for the Belt and Road Initiatives.At the beginning of 2004,the CPC committee and the Government of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomos Region have put forward the aim of promoting Xinjiang bilingual education and theguiding thought of developing Bilingual education by "Determination of Giving Great Impetus to Bilingual education." The bilingual education in Xinjiang is not perfect yet either on the theoretical side or practical side.Especially there are shortages in lessons,teaching material,teaching techniques and teaching faculty of bilingual education.Based on current bilingual teaching situation in Xinjiang,therefore,further research and investigation is badly needed to complete the bilingual education system as well as to boost the development of bilingual education.This thesis makes questionnaires to students who study inKazakh-Han bilingual middle schools and draws out outlines to their bilingual chemical teachers,which are made based on analysis of domestics and overseas bilingual education,current situation of bilingual education in Xinjiang,and the bilingual teaching of chemistry in Xinjiang.These questionnaires and interviews are mainly point to professional abilities and language competences along with teaching activities of students and chemical teachers in Kazakh-Han bilingual school in Xinjiang.This paper has found out following problems appeared in current bilingual teaching of chemistry in high school:1.chemical teachers who have the singleness of knowledge structures or limitation of Chinese make no satisfaction to bilingual classes.2.students' incomprehension of technical terms makes pressures to learning chemistry and students' Chinese are not at the same level so that some students who understand less Chinese can not follow up learning process.3.the textbook and teaching materials are not fully suitable for minority students in Xinjiang and the reference books are unable to fully fulfill the demands of bilingual teaching in chemistry.4.Students in bilingual classes don't have solidify basic knowledge of chemical.Students have lower ability to manipulate chemical experiments so they lost interests of chemical learning.According to the analyzing on the results of the questionnaires,five recommends are given aiming at improving the chemical teaching situation of Kazakh-Han bilingual middle schools in Xinjiang.1.Enroll more minority teachers who studied in Han Chinese school as chemistry teachers and improve the training schemes of bilingual chemistry teachers including professional knowledge,teaching skills and bilingual language levels.2.Compile chemistry textbooks with ethical characteristics and carry out cultural adaptability teaching.3.Reform chemistry teaching methods to enhance Kazak students' experience of scientific methods and process.4.Actively carry out experimental teaching reform to improve Kazakh students'ability of comprehensive application of chemical knowledge.Through this research,the author hopes to provide basis for making more scientific and reasonable bilingual education policies as well as inspire the teaching research and chemical bilingual teachers to boost bilingual education.
