Since elementary school is a critical period for students' development of the ability in oral communication,the importance of students' oral communication training can thus be seen.How to design the teaching procedure of oral communication,how to train group cooperation and how to evaluate students' competence in oral communication are questions that need to be solved in this research.This research starts from three perspectives,namely,teachers,students and parents,and adopts several methods,such as literature reference,questionnaire survey,interview and classroom observation.A few questions that exist in the current oral communication teaching are found,such as limited training on oral communication,teachers' limited competence,ambiguous goals of communication,small proportion in the teaching content,simple teaching methods,students' limited competence in expression and differences in the listening habit,improperly implemented co-cultivation in school and ambiguous evaluation.criteria.Therefore,the predecessors' theories on teaching and my own teaching practice are analyzed and integrated,through which,a set of my own teaching pattern is organized.The theory of effective communication is integrated,and appropriate strategies of the instruction of oral English in elementary schools are explored,such as guiding students to establish specific communication goals,training students to grasp effective means of communication,and adopting group cooperation to cultivate students' ability of grasping critical information,and adopting multiple evaluation to effectively grasp feedback information,conducting extracurricular drills,and integrating oral communication with other Chinese courses like reading and composition,as well as the strategy of integrating oral communication practice with extracurricular practice at home and school.Furthermore,an evaluation form on the competence of oral communication is formulated in accordance with the elements of communication.
