A Study Of Status Quo And Prospect Of Traditional Mosuo Sports In Lugu Lake Area

The Lugu Lake region is the only place in China that completely preservesthe social structure of the matrilineal system.The Mosuo people living in Lugu Lake are the only matrilineal clan that still exists in China.There are special male-female relationships in which the male and the female are not married.The diversity of the Mosuo people and their special social and cultural backgrounds are prerequisites for the Mosuo people to develop special traditional sports.With the development of society,Mosuo people's special traditional sports are affected by modern competitive sports,people's demand for development and tourism economy,and the further inheritance and development of traditional Mosuo sports also is faced with unprecedented problems.As a part of national sports,the protection of traditional Mosuo sports is urgent.To promote the healthy and long-term development,and inheritance of traditional sports programs in Lugu Lake,we must face these shocks and study in depth the special traditional sports programs of the Mosuo people before we can find a direction for future development.This article attempts to protect and promote traditional Mosuo sports through the study of development history and inheritance of traditional Mosuo sports,so that more people can understand traditional Mosuo sports,accept and like them,participate in them,and make it continue to grow.From the comprehensive perspective of ethnology,sports anthropology,sports culture and other disciplines,this study uses the methods of interviews,fieldwork,literature,case analysis,questionnaires,and data analysis to study the birth,inheritance,development status of traditional Mosuo sporst,and elaborates the interrelationship between them.It discusses the status quo and inadequacies of traditional Mosuo sports development,and then proposes measures for traditional sports development of Mosuo people in Lugu Lake area,creates a good atmosphere for the development and protection of traditional Mosuo people's sports,and promotes the development,inheritance and realization of traditional Mosuo sports.The research shows:1.The generation of traditional Mosuo ethnic sports is unique to matriarchalculture,derived from the “walking marriage” custom,and evolves from nomadic culture,farming culture,religious rituals and folk festivals.Traditional Mosuo sports have unique national culture characteristics.2.The traditional ethnic sports of Mosuo people include twenty-six types of traditional sports,16 of which are relatively common,and the most representative ones are the Jiacuo dance,rowing pig slot boat and horse racing.Under the influence of the tourism economy and that of safety factors,the ban on horse racing has seriously affected the diversified inheritance and development of traditional sports in the region.3.As a result of social development,foreign life styles and development methods have changed traditional marriage relationship of the Mosuo people.This has led to the gradual change of Jiacuo dance,which is created by traditional and special matrilineal marriage: it gives priority to performances,and loses the nature of the service for the special marriage relationship.Traditional sports created by the special marriage system gradually disappear;if not protected and passed on,traditional sports such as Jiacuo dance will remain in the history books and cannot be inherited.4.The development of traditional Mosuo ethnic sports is based on the inheritance of their own national holiday festivals and traditional folk culture.The national sports performance and entertainment projects are mainly performed and promoted in folk festival celebrations and are carried out well.At the same time,under the influence of foreign economy and culture,the Mosuo people have absorbed many foreign sports activities,injected fresh blood into the Mosuo people's sports activities,enriched the traditional sports programs in Lugu Lake area,and enabled Mosuo people to understand more of our traditional sports.5.Driven by the development of foreign culture and tourism economy,the focus of the local government has shifted to economic development and the occupation of traditional sports venues has led to a serious shortage of activity sites.The site constraints restrict the development of traditional Mosuo sports.
