Aristotle is one of the greatest thinkers in the West and the master of the ethics. He used“ethics” for the first time and built the scientific system of ethics. He had created numerous books during his life.Just in the field of ethics, there are Nicomachean Ethics,Eudemian ethics and Magna Moralia which are renowned in the world.Aristotle’s ethic thoughts provided theoretical support for practicing and cultivating socialist core values actively and also of great significance to the moral education of college students.Because,on the one hand, according to Aristotle’s theory of justice, justice is the exchange of equal interests. It is the principle of city-state and the value standard of the state system.College students have a flaw that is selfishness. If college students can learn Aristotle’s theory of justice effectively and correctly, they would strive to over come selfishness and make more contribution to society and others.Because, according to the principle of fairness,if a person want to get rights and interests from society and others,he must make some contributions first. The more contributions he make for the society and others, the more benefits he will receive. On the other hand, according to Aristotle’s theory of virtue, virtue is the best thing that a person possesses.Virtue is the basis for one’s life.It is more important than money. The realization of virtue, the realization of self-creative potential and the acquisition of virtue are themself happiness. If college students can be deeply influenced by Aristotle’s virtue theory, they will be determined to pursue virtue and realize their creative potential. Then, they are bound to struggle for the so-called “ Three Immortality” of ancient Chinese. Some people may regard the realization of “Lide” and virtue as happiness, and continue to do good things for many years;some may think of “ Writing” as happiness, they would read lots of books and write books with profound thoughts easily.Others may consider “Meritorious Service” as happiness and work hard to make meritorious services. In this way,our great motherland will be more prosperous.
