The rapid development of the information technologies brings new possibilities and vitalities to the education business,meanwhile,there are more requirements.In the traditional mathematic teaching courses,the teachers provide math problems and give the solutions while the students listen to the teacher and write down notes.When it comes to the mathematic problems about "conic section and equation",many problems are very and the geometrical relationship is complicated.Many students are more difficult to understand the solving principles and methods.It is rather difficult for them to transfer between the geometrical numbers and shapes.The Geometer's Sketchpad is an excellent teaching assistant software.Its accurate and dynamic drawing function can directly present the shape based on students' logical analysis.Its accurate and useful calculations can also testify the result.This software therefore has advantages in the teaching of conic section problems.Practical applications of this software have proven that by utilizing this software,the students learning interests can be stimulated and the teaching efficiency is improved.Thus,the students' ability of solving problems can be improved and their creative spirit can be fostered.Based on related literature and personal teaching practices,the author of this paper studies the application of Geometer's Sketchpad on the high school teaching of conic section problems.This paper combines theories with practical situations and by utilizing the method of questionnaire investigation,it summarizes students' current situation of conic section learning and their difficulties of mastering this knowledge point.Based on personal teaching practices,the paper summarizes the difficult and important points of conic section teaching as well as the factors which influence students' learning effect.This study tries to investigate the advantages of the Geometer's Sketchpad so that it can be better combined with the conic section teaching to benefit high school math teachers and students.This paper consists of five main parts:The first part is an introduction,including the research background and significance,current researches,research purposes,methodologies and so on;the second part is related theoretical foundations,including the study theories of constructionism,of humanism,cognitivism and the theory of deep combination between information technology and courses and so on;the third part is the investigation of the Geometer's Sketchpad's current application in high school conic section teaching,including investigation purpose,research object and method,design of questionnaire and analysis of investigation result;the fourth part is about the practices of utilizing Geometer's Sketchpad in high school conic section teaching,including its features,strategies and practical cases;the last part is an conclusion of the whole paper,including the achievements of this research as well as some suggestions for the practical teaching.This part also reflects the limitations of this research and the further researching possibilities.
