Symbolic Capital:The Role Of Mobile Phone In Children's Peer Relationship In Baluo Village

Through the method of field-work,this paper studies the peer relationship and mobile phone use of the children in Baluo village,with a view to answering the role of mobile phone in the children's peer relationship in the village.The four-month study found a significant link between cellphone use and peer relationships in children in the village.Especially in the field of children's establishment of peer relations,mobile phones not only take the entity,but also influence the power and peer position by its symbolic meaning.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part introduces the selection of village?the general situation of cellphone use and peer relationship of children in this village.The second part expounds the link between cell phone use and peer relations in village children,and proves that the children's cell phone use is associated with peer relations.Finally,we can come to a conclusion that the cell phone is a symbolic capital in the field of children peer relations.The third part explains the inevitability and contingency of mobile phone in the children's peer relationship field in the village,and introduces the redistribution process of power in various capital transformation.The fourth part focuses on,as a kind of symbolic capital,what the function of mobile phone in the peer group.through to the phenomenon and the theory summary,this paper found that mobile phone has the function of Integrated /Segregation and Capital Reproduction.To sum up,this study holds that cell phone is a kind of symbolic capital in the children's peer relationship in Baluo village,and is the weapon for children to acquire the power of the peer relationship field.Because the mobile phone has played a role of Integrated /Segregation and Capital Reproduction,so the children have to put the capital into the field of establish a relationship,in order to get better company performance,to get more friends.Based on the results of this study,this paper believes that this study can provide a new interpretation Angle for "left-behind children's Internet addiction".
