The importance of vocabulary as one of the four elements of language is self-evident,which is also true in the teaching of Chinese as a second language.It is not only the carrier of speech,semantics and grammar,but also the carrier of pragmatics and culture.For a long time,grammar has taken up a large part in Chinese teaching,while vocabulary teaching is just an accessory and has not received due attention.And traditional vocabulary teaching,basically be combined with the text to explain,although say how well students can accept,but after out of textbooks,many students don't seem to use the vocabulary acquisition for life or specific language environment.In the real process of vocabulary teaching,teachers should not only confined to the textbook of words,but also with a variety of methods to help students and review the old words,to consolidate and expand the students' Chinese language vocabulary,increase their vocabulary accumulation and achieve the goal of communication.What method can improve the efficiency of Chinese vocabulary teaching?American humanist psychologist Carl Rogers' education concept of "student-centered" have give us a great guiding.In recent years,many achievements have been made in many fields of language research,but there is still a lack of research on the application of this principle in the teaching of Chinese as a second language.In this paper,the author try to use the teaching principle of "student-centered" in Chinese vocabulary teaching,then put forward some humble opinion for Chinese vocabulary teaching design.This paper is divided into six parts.The first part is the introduction,which elaborates the research background,research purpose and significance,research object and research method,and related research summary.The second part analyzes the present situation of Chinese language teaching,especially vocabulary teaching,in chaiya school in suratthani province of Thailand from the aspects of schools and students.The third part elaborates the teaching model and theoretical basis of "student-centered" teaching principle.The fourth part is Chinese vocabulary design based on the teaching principle of "student-centered".The fifth part elaborates the significance of "student-centered" teaching principle in the practice of primary vocabulary teaching in Thailand.The sixth part is the summary of the whole paper.
