In recent years,public service activities continue to flourish,the benefit of the community.Volunteers in the participation of public welfare activities bear a very positive and important role,to promote the development of China's public welfare undertakings.Volunteers are the main force of the volunteer team.Good public service ability is a good prerequisite for the successful implementation of public welfare activities,the successful completion of public service tasks.In the practice of public welfare,college students volunteer in the process of devotion to others,warm others,but also exposed such as volunteer action organizational structure is relatively simple,can not fully meet their diversified public service needs;public service is not internalized into college students volunteer The long-term conscious behavior,the service is too formal,the lack of stability of the service team;the other hand,the college students volunteer itself because of public awareness,lack of relevant professional knowledge,did not grasp the appropriate help methods and other reasons feel powerless.Students in the public participation in the encounter these problems,highlighting the lack of public service practice.The study focused on volunteering college students for the “Building a Dream” project,and collected related data through semi-structured interviews,questionnaires,and participatory observations to assess their ability to practice in the public interest.The research found that the current college students' volunteer's public service ability is low,the public awareness of public welfare is not clear,the coordination ability is insufficient,and the public welfare implementation ability and management ability need to be improved.In response to these problems,this paper uses group work methods to teach them the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of social work professional,and then to achieve the purpose of improving university volunteers' ability to practice public welfare.Among them,the group work method has four groups of activities divided into three stages.The first stage is to initially understand the level of the public interest practice capability through initial contact with the service object,and briefly introduces the theory and practical skills of social work in the public benefit.The guiding role in practice;the second stage is mainly to carry out in-depth communication and interaction between the social worker session,the people in the public welfare field and the college student volunteers to help them better understand the value and significance of social work;the third stage provides detailed theoretical and theoretical knowledge of social work and Practical skills.Finally,through the use of process assessment,results assessment and other methods to assess the effectiveness of the study,the team found that the level of the team's ability to practice in the public interest has been significantly improved,indicating that social work is feasible in improving university students' ability to practice in the public interest.Finally,this study summarizes the problem of social work involved in volunteer public service ability of college students,and reconsiders the training program and training effect.Through the group work intervention,the college students' public awareness of public welfare is more pure and firm,the mentality of participating in the public welfare practice is more enthusiastic and positive,and the professional comprehensive ability has been significantly improved,and the positive results have been achieved.It is hoped that through this study,we will be able to initiate research on the related issues of social work involved in the promotion of volunteer public service ability of college students.
