The Research On Wang Dazhi Children's Educational Thoughts

Wang Dazhi(1903-1980),male,born in Bishan Village,Yixian County,Anhui Province.From March 1916 to 1920,he received his education successively in the Advanced Primary School of Huaining County,the first normal...College of Anhui Province,Anhui Middle School and No.1 Middle School of Anhui Province.In1926,he started his teaching career in Jishui Town Primary School in Wangjiang County.In 1928,he became the fourth cadet of Xiaozhuang normal College in Nanjing.In 1930,he was appointed to be the principal of Xin'an Primary School in Huai'an County,Jiangsu Province by Tao Xingzhi.He founded Xin'an Children's Tour Group in October 1933 and Xin'an Tour Group in October 1935.In 1942,he led the Xin'an Tour Group back to the Chenji liberated area of Fu'ning County.Then he successively served as the administrative cadre of the Cultural Office in Yanfu,government inspector of Jiangsu and Anhui border areas,president of Normal College affiliated to Huazhong Construction University,and headmaster of East China School for Cadres' Children,etc.After the founding of new China,he served as the headmaster of Nanjing Xiaozhuang Teachers College,specialist of Teacher Education Ministry of Education Department,deputy director of National Language Research Class,deputy director of the Chinese Literary Reform Commission,Party secretary and vice president of Guangdong Institute of Nationalities,etc.He died in Beijing in 1980 at the age of 77.The theoretical origin of Wang Dazhi's ideology on children's education mainly comes from the direct influence of the "education in life" theory and he developed it according to the social environment at that time.Wang Dazhi's thoughts of children's education are mainly embodied during his practical education experience in Xin'an.Wang Dazhi inherited and developed Tao Xingzhi's educational thoughts in combination with reality,and he determined that the goal of children's training should cover five aspects— healthy physique,productive skills,artistic interest,ability to conquer nature and the spirit of transforming society.From his revolutionary practice and educational practice,Wang Dazhi realized the importance of children's education.He believed that children are the future masters of the country,the creators of the world and the continuers of human life.Wang Dazhi discussed the importance of children's education from the situation of resisting Japanese invasion and saving the country at that time and the strategic height of national future development,and put forward that we should pay extensive attention to children's health education,science and technology education,labor education and ideological and political education.Wang Dazhi thinks that in order to educate children,they must first go to the big society to learn and exercise,there is small life and big life,and also small society and big society.School is a small society,just teaching in school is not enough.Wang Dazhi stressed that through polytechnic education,children should be "independent and free people";Children must learn to be pupil teachers to teach others who are unclear about something,and we should let those who can serve as teachers.Finally,they need to learn self-education and self-management.In view of the management of children,Wang Dazhi created a unique and effective method,the basic student system,when he was the principal of Xin'an Primary School.Basic students study for free in school,while providing productive labor,this is unique to Xin'an Primary School,and also creation under the society at that time.In Wang Dazhi's children's education thoughts,the learning attitude of "self-education,democratic management",the educational idea of "pay attention to comprehensive quality" and "pay attention to the study and exercise in the big society" and the promotion of the trend of Educational thought of "Learning and teaching like Tao Xingzhi,and localize it",left us with precious spiritual wealth,is still of great value and significance to us today.
