Classroom is an important place for teachers to carry out teaching activities and students to learn,in where students' participation directly reflects the success or failure of teaching and the development of students themselves.But in practical teaching activities,there are still some notable problems.Through the classroom observation,we found that most students in the classroom only passively participate in or do not participate in classroom teaching activities.Many college students are playing mobile phones,even hating to learn and skipping classes.Only a few students will communicate with teachers.Therefore,in view of this kind of phenomenon,it is necessary to observe and analyze the present situation of college students' classroom participation,which is conducive to the improvement of the level of classroom participation and the improvement of the quality of talent training in colleges and universities.Using classroom observation method,literature analysis method and questionnaire method,the present situation of college students' classroom participation is investigated through three dimensions: cognitive participation,behavioral participation and emotional participation.This paper explores the problems existing in the process of college students' classroom participation in order to find out the causes of some students' non-participation in the classroom and put forward solutions.Through classroom observation and research,it is found that in the classroom environment of college students,most of the students in the back row are far less engaged than those in the front row,and most boys tend to sit in the back row,while the girls in front.The phenomenon of classroom silence and passive participation of college students is very common.Many ore students play electronic products in the classroom.In the weaker light classroom environment,the number of students dozing off or distracting is obviously increased.In terms of classroom capacity,students in smaller classes are more focused.Secondly,we also find that the lowest degree of college students' classroom participation is the cognitive dimension,while the emotional participation is the second,and the best is behavioral participation through thequestionnaire analysis.Moreover,there are significant differences in gender,grade,class role,family location and so on.As a whole,there are still some problems in students' learning habits and classroom interaction;and the students' feeling of boredom and tension in the classroom is high.College students' attitude towards professional courses is more serious than that of public courses,but their consciousness of independent learning and ability to think independently are weak,so they cannot reasonably arrange their study time and tasks.They lack the ability to query and criticize knowledge,but only remember the knowledge points mechanically.In view of the problems existing in college students' participation in classroom,the following suggestions are put forward to improve their engagement;Implementing multiple achievement assessment mechanism to stimulate students' enthusiasm for classroom participation;Changingteaching methods to create a good classroom atmosphere;Strengthening the management of classroom environment and guiding students to establish a good companion relationship;Cultivating learning strategies and interests,improving students' ability to learn independently,changing the concept of talent training in higher education and reforming the talent training system.
