When the “quality” has become the main theme of the international higher education development, “the student-centered” has become the big trend of higher education development in the world, China’s higher education need to rethink the present situation of the higher education quality view and adhere to the connotation of “promotion” and “quality”. The classroom is the main channel of college teaching, college students are important participants in the process. College students’ effective participation in classroom refers to that students are able to construct classroom positively, participate in classroom actively, involved in positive cognitive involvement, thinking involvement, behavior involvement and emotional involvement in the complex. The quality of higher education is determined by the students’ participation level in the classroom to a great extent. However, the phenomenon of College Students’ class participation, the phenomenon such as the low level of classroom participation, the formal representation, passive participation and non-participation in classroom teaching is very common and has a bad effect on the quality of higher Education. Therefore, it is very significant to enhance the quality of personnel training, by focusing on the status of college students’ participation in the classroom and the existing problems, grasping the participation pattern and promoting college students’ participation.This research is entitled by college students’ participation in the classroom. This paper puts “the college students’ Class Participation Questionnaire” as a research tool, explores students’ classroom participation involved in the problems existing in the process, the problems’ reasons and analyses demographic differences, from the four dimensions of cognitive participation, thinking participation, behavior participation and emotional participation. After research, the author draws the following conclusions: College Students’ classroom participation generally belongs to mediocre; Cognitive participation, thinking participation, behavior participation and emotional participation in the demographic statistics showed significant difference.This paper is divided into six parts: the first part points out the background and significance of College Students’ participation in the classroom. Students’ participation in classroom is an important guarantee to advance comprehensive development and improve the quality of higher education. The second part introduces the concept of effective participation of College students, significance and theoretical basis. The third part describes the research design and sample selection, statistical validity, sample’s basic situation. In the fourth part, the results of the survey were explained. In the fifth part, the survey’s results has been discussed and analyzed including reasons for the problems of College Students’ classroom participation and reasons for the differences in classroom participation. The sixth part refers to conclusion and suggestion. Based on the college students’ classroom participation study, this paper gives suggestions as follows: to pay attention to individual differences and teach students in accordance with their aptitude; to promote the classroom change in students’ learning attitude with multilateral force; to create good relations between teachers and students help promote participation; to pay attention to students’ cultivation of thinking and ability in order to stimulate their potential; to identify the role of positioning help enhance self-efficacy.
