As the curriculum reform carries on,more and more attention has been focused on students-centered classroom teaching and theories of constructivism and teaching mode has been more and more discussed among front-line teachers.More and more teachers begin to try to use constructivism to instruct teaching activities.Whether the teaching activities are effective or not depends on whether teachers can reasonably integrate the constructivism and subject teaching.This paper discusses geographical teaching activities of high school under the guidance of the theory of constructivism learning activities.By learning the constructivism learning theory,integrating the learning characters of physical geography of high school and learning characteristics of high school students,the author thinks constructivism teaching model should be applied to teaching practice.This paper includes the following sections:literary review of the theories of constructivism;learning characteristics of physical geography of high school and feasibility analysis of theories of constructivism applied to physical geographical teaching activities of high school;content and procedure of constructivism learning theory in physical geographical teaching activities of high school;teaching practice of physical geography of high school.And the last section is conclusion.The teaching practice of physical geography of high school is the focus of this paper.Teaching practice with integration of constructivism learning theory and characteristics of different chapter contents is applied in the research process.The research has come to a conclusion that the guidance of constructivism learning theory is effective.It helps to develop students' ability of autonomous learning,cooperative learning and expression;it promotes students' meaning construction of geography knowledge;it is helpful for students to form geography awareness and cultivate geography quality.In the research,there exist some shortcomings in classroom teaching in physical geography of high school under the guidance of constructivism learning theory.The classroom teaching in physical geography of high school under the guidance of constructivism learning theory has a high demand of teachers,students and teaching circumstance.Restricted by teaching circumstance and teaching levels of teachers,more researches should be done to let the constructivism theory play a better role in teaching practice.
