Concept is an important part of content knowledge of each subject.Geographical concept is a generalization of the essential properties of geographical objects or geographical representation.According to the analysis of high school geography compulsory courses and national college entrance examinations in recent years,geographical concept plays an important role in high school geography.The uncertainty of geographical concept will inevitably affect the understanding and application of relevant contents,such as geography principles and rules and so on.Combining the relevant teaching cases,questionnaires and other methods,this dissertation analyzes the system of geographical concept and the existing problems in teaching,discovering that it is difficult for the students to distinguish the connotation and extension of the relevant concepts.Therefore,how to help students to distinguish relevant concepts in teaching is crucial for students to improve their geographical performance.On the basis of collecting previous research,this dissertation combines pedagogy,psychology and other related theories,as well as teaching practice,and makes a summary of the system of high school geography.Research methods used in this dissertation are: document research,questionnaire method,survey procedure and action research method and so on.The first part of the dissertation sums up the current textbooks of high school geography and the national college entrance examination in recent years,discovering that geographical concepts account for a considerable proportion.The relevant data has been sorted out through tables.Through document research on relevant study of geographical concepts teaching,I find that geographical concepts teaching in foreign countries started early and has built up a complete theory system.Through literature review,it is found that the charting method is usually used as concept teaching in mathematics teaching.The Geography Subject attaches great importance to charts,and the graphical representation is quite suitable for the relevant concepts of geographic principle.By using it,the core of the concepts can be explained clearly.Compared with other traditional subjects in China,which have mature theory system,the development of geographical concepts teaching is poorer and scattered.Moreover,it is based more on theories,lacking analysis in concrete teaching practice.The dissertation tries to give simple classifications of geographical concepts and the conceptual system of the middle school geography textbooks can also be summarized.State the scientificity of the teaching method of geography concept,based on Bruner's structure discovery theory,Ausubel's reception assimilation theory and Constructivism,etc.The latter part of the dissertation focus on teaching design : ‘Anticyclone' and ‘Summer Drought ',the concrete and abstract geographic concepts,applying some relevant teaching methods.The experiment was conducted among the students in the two liberal arts classes I taught.For example,in order to make students understand some concepts,the teacher summarized and contrasted the relevant concepts,and helped students figure out the thoughts of answering questions.Through more than one year of tracking,the students were asked to finish some questions in geography.The relevant data has been collected and compared and analyzed,proving the effectiveness of concept teaching.
