A Study On The Integrated Development Strategys Of Adult Education In Africa

In the context of globalization and African integration,the integrated development strategies of adult education in Africa is an inevitable and important trend.This study adopts literature research method,historical research method and case analysis method.Through the research on the integrated development strategies of adult education in Africa,we could enhance our overall awareness about adult education in Africa and analyze in depth the policies,goals,key areas,achievements and existing problems of the integrated development strategies of adult education in Africa,which offer inspiration and reference for our country to formulate the Africa policy and deepen its cooperation with Africa.In order to promote the development of adult education and give full play to the important role of its in social transformation,all levels of organizations in Africa have taken a series of measures.AU and its subordinate agencies that play a leading role in promoting the formation of an integrated development strategies for adult education in Africa,successively release strategic policies on adult education.Some African Regional Economic Communities have introduced a plan for adult education in the region,which based on the development of adult education in the region.African regional education professional organizations actively study the problems or current situation in adult education.Civil societies,such as the African Adult Education Platform,have started work in their respective fields and provided some suggestions for the development of adult education in Africa so as to promote the reform of adult education.International organizations have promoted some consensus among African governments at the International Conference on Adult Education.The integrated development strategies of adult education in Africa focuses on three major topics.The first is to launch a comprehensive literacy campaign that includes comprehensive and effective literacy campaigns and strengthening the synergy between culture and education,and launching literacy education programs with official and private participation.The second is to accelerate the achievements of gender equality.It includes promoting gender equality in school education,empowering women and strengthening gender-sensitive education research.The third is to strengthen the construction of informatization,including the use of development and opening up distance education,the establishment of African Virtual University,the development of information technology capacity-building project.The study found that the integration of adult education in Africa is less developed and still in a state of dynamic development.The integrated development strategies of adult education in Africa has some special features.It lies in that its strategic development goals which have taken into account both political and economic development and its contains profound African cultural values.It has formed a pattern that the AU,RECs,member countries as the core,involving civil society,universities and international organizations.The integrated development of adult education in African has made some achievements,it promoted the AU,RECs,member countries,international organizations and civic societies and other multilateral education policy dialogue between stakeholders,attached great importance to the literacy and informal education again,and established an effective public-private partnership.However,it still faces some problems and challenges including the absence of comprehensive and comprehensive strategies,high illiteracy rates,insufficient levels of private participation,lack of safeguards.China can work with African development partners to promote the integration of adult education in Africa by jointly developing a strategy for cooperation in education between China and Africa,expanding channels of cooperation in sharing and developing resource.promoting Chinese literacy education experience,and strengthening civic societies'and private sectors'interaction.
