The Comparison Of The Image Of Teachers In The Eyes Of Pupils In Junior Classes And Senior Classes

The image of teachers has always been a vital issue concerned by the educational theory and practice circle.From the perspective of literature,there are studies that mainly focus on the aspects of the "should-be" construction of the image of teachers,the development and changes of the image of teachers,the image of teachers in film or literary works,the image of college teachers and the image of preschool teachers.Studies on the image of teachers from the angle of pupils is very limited,which is far from commensurate with the educational reform direction of attaching great importance to children's perspective in recent years.On these grounds,this paper selected the students in junior classes and senior classes of G primary school as research subjects,mainly adopted the method of investigation and research to see the image of teachers in the eyes of pupils clearly from the aspects of the external features,intrinsic features and professional features of teachers,and made a comparison between the images of teachers in the eyes of students in junior classes and senior classes to provide new reference perspective for the development of teachers and schools.The study has found that there are some commonality between the images of teachers in their eyes described by students in junior classes and senior classes,that is,pupils in both junior and senior classes all like beautiful,smiling,tender and kind,knowledgeable and highly professional teachers and they are looking forward to establish a good teacher-student relationship.At the same time,pupils in different classes have different preference in the cognition and description of the image of teachers.First of all,all the differences in the external features of the image of teachers are expressed in the following two aspects:(1)Appearance feature.Junior students prefer the beauty of appearance,and senior students prefer the beauty of inner temperament.(2)Manners and deportment.Junior students pay attention to teachers'positive behaviors and senior students pay attention to teachers' negative behaviors.Secondly,the differences in the intrinsic features of the image of teachers are shown as follows:(1)personality quality.Junior students expect tender and kind teachers and senior students expect humorous teachers.(2)Knowledge literacy.Junior students expect versatile teachers?and seniors are favor of knowledgeable teachers.Finally,the differences in the professional features of the image of teachers are shown as follows:(1)The image of teachers embodied in teacher-student relationship.Junior students expect mother-like teachers and senior students expect friend-like teachers.(2)The image of teachers embodied in the professional competence.Senior students like teachers who can bring happiness to them,and such appeal of junior students is not obvious.There are two reasons why there are differences in the image of teachers in the eyes of junior and senior students.Firstly,the cogniti ve development levels of pupils in different classes are different.Secondly,the learning and life experiences of pupils in different classes are different.By comparing and thinking the image of teachers in the eyes of junior students and senior students,suggestions are put forward as follows:(1)Teachers in primary school should understand student complete with various ways.(2)Teachers in primary school should take independent management of their own images with various aspects.(3)Teachers in primary school are more female and it should attract male teachers to join the team of primary school teachers.
