A Narrative Study Of The Influence Of Parenting Pattern On Study Habbit Of Lower Grade Students In Primary School

An important manifestation for growth of pupils,especially the lower-grade ones,is developing a good learning habit,which does not only serve as the basis of study,but also extremely benefits their personality growth.Thus,the schools tend to take development of learning habit as the elementary educational objective in primary grades.However,a point which has become psychological common knowledge is that the growth of pupils,especially lower-grade ones,is highly influenced by home environment and education from parents.The development of learning habit which is an aspect in growth behaviors naturally bears the same characteristics.Therefore,forming learning habit should not only be concentrated on school level,but should also consider the influence of home environment and upbringing.The core of home environment and upbringing is the parenting pattern.There have been a lot of efforts put in research on parenting pattern at home and abroad,while most is focused on the influence of parenting pattern on socialization of children and scholastic achievement,yet is relatively lacking in discussion about learning habit.Based on the actual problems and practical demands of schools,this research explores the relation between parenting pattern and learning habit formation of lower-grade students,in an effort to solve the appeal of forming good learning habit for students.Established in true school practice and work characteristics of the researcher,this research attempts to adopt the mode of narrative research.Being the main teacher of a lower-grade class,the researcher selected 5 pupils with typical characteristics in learning habit from the taught class as objects to describe their learning habits,home environment and parenting pattern in details,so as to display and discuss the relation between pupils' learning habit characteristics and type of parenting pattern,and obtain educational inspiration.The research finds that the current findings in research on the influence of parenting pattern on children socialization,etc.are largely consistent.The result of this research shows that compared with despotic,permissive and ignored parenting pattern,the authoritative patterning mode based on respect and democracy has a remarkable positive influence and function on formation of a good learning habit for students.
