The Study On Political Efficacy,Cultural Capital And College Students' Political Participation

Throughout the modern Chinese college students' political participation pattern,we can find that because of the flourishing of modern new schools,young students have become a new social force.They have been playing a very important role in the political stage of modern China.However,after 1990 s,the mode of College Students' political participation has changed greatly,some new and distinct characteristics have appeared.In today's society,college students still have abundant public life and broad public space,and the frequency of participation in social public affairs,campus governance,and political activities is also very high.College Students' political participation or public participation has always been one of the focuses and categories in academic circles.This study conducted a field survey on the political participation of 607 college students in Beijing.Using SPSS to analyze the data,with the multiple linear regression methods to draw a preliminary conclusion,and analyze the influence factors of the political participation from the perspective of cultural capital and political efficacy.Through data processing and analysis,The conclusion is as follows:First,there are three characteristics of College Students' political participation at the present stage:the increasingly pluralistic way of participation,the continuous emergence of new mode of participation based on the network,less practical action of political participation,and lack of certain initiative.Second,the influence of Beijing college students' political efficacy on the three types of political participation is decreasing.The study found that both internal political efficacy and external political efficacy have significant positive impact on College Students' participation in the school political life factors;only internal political efficacy has a significant positive impact on College Students' participation in social and public life;Neither Internal political efficacy nor external political efficacy have significant impact on College Students' participation in political activities.Third,the impact of cultural capital on political participation is more complex.Both physical-objective cultural capital and the institutionalized cultural capital have a significant positive impact on the participation of the political life factors within the school;the institutionalized cultural capital has a significant positive impact on the participation in social public life,and the physical-objective cultural capital has a significant positive effect on the participation of the political activities.In view of the present situation and problems of College Students' political participation,I have some edifications: cultivating students' political sense of political efficacy,broaden the channels for the political participation;Creating a good family environment and setting up a scientific training concept;Creating a good campus cultural environment,guiding the political participation effectively;Innovating the methods of Ideological and political education,improving the consciousness and ability of College Students' political participation.
