With the development of the competency education concept,competency has had a profound impact on the field of graduate education.Concepts and models such as admission based on competency characteristics,curriculum setting,training,and qualification assessment have emerged.As a collection of individual core qualities and competency characteristics of individuals,competency has a significant impact on performance and can significantly differentiate between good performance and general performance.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the structure of postgraduate competency and adopt appropriate management strategies to improve the competency level of graduate students.Scientific research ability is an important component of postgraduate training and an important embodiment of postgraduate academic ability.From the perspective of personnel training,scientific research ability is an important indicator to measure the quality of graduate education,is a manifestation of the quality and level of higher education,and is also the key to building a world-class graduate education to the depth development of the "Double First-Class" construction.Under the background of "Double First-Class" construction,research and exploration of the graduate competency and its impact on scientific research performance are necessary for cultivating qualified academic talents,top-notch innovative talents,and improving postgraduate research capabilities.This research examines the competency structure of graduate students and their impact on scientific research performance and specific mechanisms based on the perspective of competency theory,and proposes a constructive management path in connection with the reform and cultivation of graduate education.The results of the study show that:Competency of graduate students is a multidimensional structure consisting of six dimensions: self-management,research ability,attitude and quality,psychological quality,research methods and professional knowledge;There is a significant positive correlation between the competency of graduate students and the performance of scientific research.Among them,research ability,professional knowledge and attitude quality mainly affect research attitude and performance,research ability mainly affects research performance,research ability,research methods and psychological quality mainly affect the performance of scientific research;Capital plays a complete intermediary role between graduate competency and research performance;The supervisor factor adjusts the relationship between the competency of graduate students and the performance of scientific research.The higher level of supervisor factors,the stronger the effect of postgraduate competency on scientific research performance.The supervisor factor and postgraduate competency and the interaction between the two will have a direct impact on the overall quality of graduate students and the results of scientific research activities,and ultimately affect the correlation strength between graduate competency and research performance.The research conclusions provide important inspirations for the relevant academic research on the competency of graduate students and research performance as well as the postgraduate training in universities.
